Hi!
I just got my PC back from being upgraded. I had to spend some time blindly putting my network back in place as I had backed up a bunch of things on my Macbook that I needed. Eventually, I don't know how, I was able to connect to my Macbook from my PC. My macbook got that alias error and could not connect to the PC, though it showed in the network. I restarted. Now I can still access the Mac through my PC but the Mac doesn't even show my PC in the network anymore. Before upgrading, it was the opposite: Couldn't access my Mac through the PC.
Can anyone tell me how to make my Mac see the PC, the way the PC sees the Mac? I don't understand why one is connected and the other isn't.

not sure if this is how to do it but it work for me.
I went to the PC and made a new account for the person that the Mac name is , so if your mac is john you make a user as john on the PC.
I made sure the file and printer is setup for sharing.
Now when you connect to the PC you use that users name and password you setup in the PC.
