I have been trying to share files with my Win98 machine for quite some time now with no luck. I am using Mac OSX and the file sharing is turned on with the 98 machine. I have also added a seperate user for the 98 machine. In any case when i go to the GO menu in OSX and connect to server. I do find my machine. I go to connect to it and it asks me for a workgroup and user name and password. The workgroup is the same on both computer as well as the user name and password. It is just not working! Can someone help me out????

Good luck

I have tried for months, without success. I look forward to future post'ers showing me the way.

I would have to say in any practical sense it is impossible.

As much as I think 98 was a good OS (as far a ms os's go), it is terrible for networking, especially with macs. Plus I hear that apple designed their windows networking to be used primarily with xp, eventhough it is generic. I'd get a copy of xp. The other option is to purchase pcmaclan. I've used it with xp and it worked well. They have a 98/me version as well.
