Recently our company began kicking all computers into hibernation mode if the computer isn't used for 15 minutes. They believe it saves money but I have my doubts about that. With all the interuptions that occur in the course of a day this is a major pain in the butt.
Bearing in mind that a user cannot change settings how can someone trick the network into thinking the computer is still in use?
The system uses windows xp
Any thoughts on this ?

Make a .bat that pings google.com every ten minutes. It's a very primitive fix, but it works for me.
