Returns is closed but the store support is open for another 40minutes I believe.
Edit: I called and I hopefully will be able to set up a return tomorrow morning.

It can be returned. If you did not use the card AND the pin is unscratched, you get the full return back. However, if you did scratch the pin even if you did not use it, you will get a refund minus $100 of the computer cost.
Thank goodness! I did not scratch nor use the card thankfully.
I returned mine a few weeks ago with the promotion just fine As long as you didn't use your iTunes card you are all set!
Just a warning though, it takes a while to process your refund. They also process the $100 and the actual computer cost separately. As well, if you bought AppleCare thats another separate process. It took me a week-two weeks to get all the money back from those three things to re-order. They won't do a simple swap out + the difference--they have to fully refund you first.
But its worth the wait, 15" is the best!

So let's get this straight. You tried to do something online and were told you needed to call a telephone number because you had a special case. Instead of calling the phone number you get on a forum and post a misleading thread title to get an answer to a question that could have been answer by making a simple phone call. Uh. Never mind.
^ they did say returns was closed. I take it since that was the case, they were trying to see what happened with others in that situation which I don't think is unreasonable.
I shipped it out today with a prepaid label from Apple and ordered my 15in.
