Just wondered if anyone has any problem similar to mine?

I've just bought Neverwinter nights 2 for the mac but have found that I can't mount the disk. When I put the disk into the drive it spins for a bit and then just spits it back out again. When this first happened I returned the game back to Amazon, received the replacement this morning only to find I've got the same problem. I haven't experienced this with any other disk's that I have just this one.

I've looked again at the computer spec's required and it seems that my mac should run it, but I can't even get the disk to work. I've searched all over for any answers but have been unsuccessful and Apsyr are closed until 7th July as well. Any ideas anyone?

Oh I have a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo running Leopard 10.5.3.

Gotta ask... will other DVD's mount to your desktop?

Yes everything else mounts ok...this is the first and only time anything like this has happened.

Similar problem I'm afraid. Eventually managed to run the game - twice! But it now just keeps telling me to insert disc when it is already in. Logged with Aspyr - got a response asking me to send them system profile info file, which I have (running 10.5.4). Very unimpressed, having had to wait so long for a Mac version in the UK.

Just before I sign off this one I'll share the comment I got back from Aspyr:

"Thank you for choosing Neverwinter Nights 2 for the Mac. I apologize for the lateness of this response. It sounds like from your description that you may have a damaged or defective disk. A few recommendations. If the disk seems damaged or dirty, try wiping it off with a lint-free cloth. Also, see if it installs on another computer, if one happens to be available. There may be another issue occurring, and it might be wise to verify in such a fashion if the disk is truly defective or not.

If you are sure that the software is physically damaged, I might suggest returning it to the original retailer. If they are unavailable, or do not accept returns, you may mail it to us.

We offer a disc replacement service for $10 or, if you have purchased the disc in the last 90 days, it is free.

To get a replacement if you have purchased the game within the last 90 days, please mail a dated proof of purchase (receipt, sales order, etc.), a brief note explaining the issue and the original disc or discs (only the discs are necessary--please do not send the entire box that it came in) to the following address:

    Aspyr Media Inc.

    Attn: Returns

    PO Box 5861

    Austin, TX 78763

If it has been more than 90 days since you have purchased the game, please send the original disc or discs (again, ONLY the discs, not the packaging), a brief note explaining the issue, and a check or money order for $10 to pay for the new disc(s) to the above address. Please note: If you are a non-US resident, we can only accept money orders. If you have more than 1 game to return, the charge is $10 per game.

    Have a great day.

Wow, great response. I think I'll just package it up send it to Texas, wait a couple of weeks for a faulty replacement disk ( now haven't got any in Stock), pay postage etc.

Or I can return the disk to Amazon, get a full refund, move on and get the game some months down the line when there may be fewer problems.
    Hmm tough choice, not.
    Good luck with yours digitalwindow

It's obviously not a bad disc if both disc don't work. It's probably a firmware issue; most MacBook/Pros have problems reading discs at some point or another. Have you checked with Apple for a firmware upgrade or what suggestions they might have?
