I love the euro, I think US notes are hard to keep apart.

We have a growing size, 5 beingn rather small and 500 quite large, and the colors are nice, and they aren't overdone.

I'll try and get hold of some local Jersey money at lunch time and scan all the pretty colours in.

I remember reading a while ago that the notes have a feature that is used when some copiers or scanners are used to image the notes to prevent a copy being taken at all let alnoe a usable one. The article specifically stated that PhotoShop had this feature, and while not actually in use the program also has a feature to recognise currency and email the Fed's that someone is trying to copy it on a particular machine.

F**k it I'll risk it anyhow.

They are VERY nice looking - stylish and the colours are great. It does surprise me though that they come in such high denominations. Most country's highest is around $100.

I vaguely remember hearing this also... but I can't remember the details. LOTS of features on the bill keep it from simply being scanned though.

I can't believe no one's posted a picture of the object of discussion. Without further ado:

Hmmm.. I prefer colourful money, it's easier to see but for the EUR, the blue on 5 and 20 get too similar after a while, so is 50 and 10 [i gave the cashier a 50 the other day, thinking it was 10:rolleyes: ] but polymer money is nice, isn't it harder to fake polymer money? What country uses polymer money? I've only know Aus, NZ, Brunei and Vietnam...

Fortunately we don't have that problem, they're all completely different colours - brown, blue, green, purple and red for 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars.

When I saw it at the Fed, the president was really excited about it. He showed us a pre-production $10 bill back in october, IIRC.

Somebody has to make sure that he doesn't get too excited, otherwise he might choke on a pretzel and faint again...

If you wanna see some nice bills, look at this:

50 francs (meanwhile replaced by the Euro)

I completely forgot about this one.

Actually for your earlier post - You have to love a country that memorializes machinery.

"Massey Ferguson tractor

It was on tractors such as this that Sir Edmund Hillary drove to the South Pole. A stalwart of New Zealand farming life, these tractors proved adaptable to the harsh Antarctic conditions, requiring only minor modifications."

You also have to love machinery that only requires minor modifications.

I like colorful money - just wish I had a bit more of it in my pocket.

That would be his ticket to get his face on a bill.
:)

I kinda like it... Its a bt clutered but I think it looks better in person than on the internet.

We need to get that $1 bill out. The old one is kinda boring...
