Purchased mine earlier today also. After I set it up I unplugged it and it showed 11:25 for battery life. After using it for 30 minutes it now shows 7:43. This is with the brightness all but 4 notches to the right.

The display does seem to not be as bright for the same settings as the previous model (I had that one). But cranked all the way up, it is very bright.

The new MagSafe is different and I think a little harder to use.

So far, so good. No issues with the machine.

One other quick note. The edges are sharper on this one than my previous MacBook Pro. Wish Apple would do a better job with them, they can bother the wrist after a while.

Not that well I would imagine. Running flash in windows is the best option currently due to the Apple/Adobe issues.

flash will run just fine on any imac/macbook/macbook pro. it's only a problem on the iphone and ipad

Not as well as it will under windows in bootcamp. The newest windows version of flash is hardware accelerated, the OSX version is not.

I will run fine, but it will run comparably better in Windows.

This would be so much more exciting if it wasn't exactly the same as unboxing an old 13" :p

Though, thank you for the geekbench scores.

My emachines PC scores a little over 1100 overall. MBP here I come.

Thanks for the post. I just bought a mbp 13" last week and will probably return this for the new one.

3360 from geekbench... is that kinda low? My friend's "old" 13'' base got 3000

got mine tonight too.. 3410 geekbench.. unplug after fully charge shows 11hr 33min battery left.. but i doubt that with real usage.. still very nice

battery life

battery life is doing well so far, although i'm not really pushing the machine yet. i've just been downloading software, and getting my mobileme acct set up, but once it was fully charged, i removed the power cord, and it's been going like a champ since then.

just wanted to post an update -

oh, and for some reason, i cannot register this laptop with applecare - not sure what's going on... so, i may have to drop by the store again tomorrow...

Cheers, everyone!
