Hi new member hoping for some help.

I just yesterday received my custom build and have set it up as a new computer.

Three times since last night I have returned to my desk to see the apple logo on black background, I have had to take the macbook pro out of the vertical stand and force shutdown, when it reboots it gives me the error report log -
this is the last one - panic(cpu 0 caller oxfffffff80202284e7) : "ioscsiPeripheralDeviceType00:: :setpower state etc
it also mentions KERNEL down below, is this the kernel panics? i heard about.

I have mostly only used it connected to my 4k samsung monitor via USBC to HDMI (60HZ if that helps?)
I have for a short time used it without a dongle and hasn't seemed to crash then. Apple are telling me to exchange it and started the ball rolling but will leave me without a system for weeks.

Just starting to try to think what is causing it, any help would be amazing.

Thanks

I would definitely do a bit more experimentation before returning it. I think it’s fairly likely that it’s related to something it’s connected to, like the stand or monitor, rather than just being a defect in the computer itself. Catalina has some... issues with things like Thunderbolt 3 docks as well as multiple monitors. So it’s possible a software update would eventually solve it, but it’s hard to know

Looks like this is your problem.

What OTHER connection ports do you have on the display?
Do you have displayport?
Do you have DVI?

IF you have displayport, I'd suggest trying a USBc (MacBook) to displayport (display) connecting cable, and see if that makes a difference...

I think it may have been solved by removing another powered USB A multi port which was connected, I guess i was overloading the dongle or something. Today it has so far been stable, one lightroom crash but i believe that was the software itself. Still keeping an eye on it.
