Hey guys just a quick question, a bit offtopic but I'd reaaly be thankful for a quick answer. Some water was spilt on my MacBook pro the most recent one and by accident I turned the brightness right down so I can't see anything on the screen. As water has been spilt, some of the keys have temporarily stopped working and the brightness up has. Is there a way of trning brightness back up without being able to see anything on the screen. I am using a USB keyboard to write and type.

Cheers

Stop using your computer, turn it off, and leave it in a cool dry place to try for a few days. Then turn it on, and it should work again. Using it while wet could permanently damage the insides.

But to answer your question, yes, go to system prefs -> display

I kept it in a cupboard for 4 days then a friend, who is a technician said I could start using it and the keyboard will work over time.

And how can I get to system prefs without being able to see the screen?

I suspect that if you reboot it it will reset the brightness, I can't imagine Apple letting it boot into a black screen - that would be very scary for users.

Otherwise try F2 or fn+F2
