5th gen civics 1992 - 95 were less than 1,200 lbs
specifically a honda civic-VX
Interesting, but still saying cars were 1200 lbs, and saying a car was 1200 lbs is totally different.

Although I still find it hard to believe that they were less than 1200 lbs. If you would say less than 2000 lbs, that is totally believable, but sub-1200 lbs is a stretch.

kbb.com disagrees, listing both the VX and CX curb weight at 2094 lb (I checked only the 1993 model). Perhaps you're remembering the number in "kg" rather than "lb"?

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't bother looking it up.

A sub-1200 pound car, especially a normal production passenger vehicle, is pretty rare. I am not saying there isn't any, but probably not too many that ended up in North America in the past 40 years.

I think the Ariel Atom is like 1400 lbs. and the older Smart cars were around 1600 lbs.

The poster probably was thinking kilograms.
