New 24" iMac with 24" LED Cinema Display

Will the mini display port support the Apple and other 30" displays?

Nice setup BTW. Just ordered a 24" iMac...and plan on getting a 30" Display for the MBP.

Hi. Thanks for posting your picks. Just out of curiosity, is the black border on the LED Cinema Display thicker than on the 24" iMac? It kinda looks that way in a couple of the pics. Maybe, it's just an illusion..?

To make the height differential go away, would putting the NewerTech miniStack underneath the CD be perfect?

It's 1.5 inches high and it looks like an Apple product. Someone is going to make a nice chunk of change making a product that makes the two monitor heights match...

Im just going off this quote and assuming the height difference is 1.5 inches, so why not go the LapTuk?
You can have them at the same height and you can store your MacBook Air under it.

I am going to setup my iMac with my 24" Dell, then, if I use the second screen enough I will get rid of the Dell and replace it with a LED ACD.

Which Dell 24 inch? The 2408wfp/2407 or the e248wfp. Cause if its the 2408wfp/2407 or even the 2405, the led is not gonna be worth upgrading to.

I am running the same setup. I bought the LED Cinema Display to use with my MBP, but swapped it over to the iMac later. It's a great setup. The height difference is not massive, but I do find it a bit annoying. I just need to find a solution more pleasing than a book under the LEDCD.

My next step is to buy some speakers, though I am not as much of a hurry, as the iMac speakers are better than I thought they would be. Certainly better than those in the LEDCD. Still, I think I will be picking up the Logitech Z-5500 set to here in a month or two.

Hey, I have Cambridge Soundworks Extreme 2.1, a 3 piece speaker set up........outstanding speaker system, plenty of power, great sub, very clean.
Highly recommend although the have gone up since I bought mine.

Snap! Notwithstaning this thread is 3 years old, I would be interested in your experience @Deltasnake because this is exactly what I am doing when the new iMacs come out, I have already sold my mac mini server in anticipation, keeping the 24" Dell screen and will hook it up to the new iMac when it's released.
