funny thing on the picture 2 pictures up (with your wife) - look on the iMac screen, the flash from the camera has made a "X" appear! its telling you something!! (go mac)

Hey thanks! I just tried it and it works like a charm. I'm back to the default resolution now 2560 X 1440 as it's the clearest, by far. Does "Control +" do the same thing as the "Zoom in" feature? I use that sometimes. It's so different using this vs a PC. It takes a while getting used to it but it's only been 1 week. I think I'm doing pretty good so far. My cursing has really decreased as the week has gone by :eek:.

Good catch!

I never had a computer that I could just stick my SD card in from the side like this. I always had to connect my camera to it with that cord. It's SO nice to have the SD slot.

stever if you do :apple: + "+" that will make the text bigger for you :D

Ctrl + "+" doesnt do anything for me :\:confused:

Your welcome. I aimed to please:rolleyes:. Had session #2 today of 1-1 at the Apple Store. Now I'm REALLY glad I have this service. They're helping me with everything I need help on, including problems I've been having in the physical transition of PC to Mac at 48 years old. I couldn't figure out how to do simple tasks, like adding an attachment in Word to a cover letter from a doc I wrote in Pages and other seemingly incompatibility issues. They're solving all my problems in no time flat. This Mac can do cool things that I would have never known had I not had the 1-1.

As the McDonald's commercial says... I'm loving it.

Sorry about that. Apparently on Photobucket, I've exceeded my bandwidth limit because over 2500 people clicked on or looked at these pics I posted here and that's over a limit I never knew I had. For a fee, they tell me on their troubleshooting web link that if I upgrade to "Photobucket Pro", which I'm not going to pay for, I have unlimited bandwidth. I've never gone anywhere near a bandwidth limit posting on this forum. I guess there's WAY more users on this forum than on my car web forums so it's never been a problem before this.

Oh well.
 
The 27" iMac is indeed stunning (as is the 21.5"), and the first iMac I'd ever consider owning.

BUT, anyone who has a 27" iMac and runs it at 1920x1080 is just insane. First, that's scaling the text so everything will be considerably blurrier, and second..... that's just madness! Glad you switched back. :)

I hope you don't become too much of a 'Mackie' (new word from me hehehe) like most of us. I would hate to see you here complaining about uneven whites on the LCD hehehe.

I hope I will be that enthusiastic when I get my i7 in January. But I'm afraid I'm too aware of Apple product qualities that I will be looking for minor faults. This in fact, will be my 5th Mac computer.

Enjoy it while it lasts!!! ;)
 
I guess some of us are lucky to have zero problems with our macs. My 1st generation 24 inch iMac is still running perfect. Zero problems. Still running tiger too. This gem is like the energizer bunny... Keeps on running. Same goes for both of my mac pro's and 2 laptops. :)

People are afraid of change, I guess. I sent him tons of articles about how Macs are so great ,but he STILL is going to buy the top of the line, Win 7, new Sony Vaio all in one machine for a lot more than I paid for mine.

North Park Mall in Dallas has an Apple store and Dell store. It's shocking to see more than 2-3 customers in the Dell store at any given time. The Apple store is usually packed and has a long wait for everything.

By packed I mean by real customers not teenagers wanting to play on the newest machines.

Stever, post ur pics somewhere else or just add them to the post via amcrumors itself, this is quit annoying, we wanna see the pics or it never happend.

Not trying to annoy you but photobucket is a really crappy "free" provider. Apparently there is a bandwidth limit and I have hit it. The pics are no longer viewable due to that. I just tried uploading the pics via Kodak instead so maybe you can see them now.:) Or, maybe not...

Hey Steve! You're on the E38 forum aren't you? I am, too, and welcome to the world of Macs and the MacRumors site! I'm an Apple prodigal son myself as I started with the Apple ][ and Apple ][e before going to the dark side because of work. 'Came back to the fold 4 years ago when I played with the Mac Mini at an Apple store and realized what I've been missing for too long. Great machines, great OS, great customer support and great peer support from forums such as this.

Enjoy! I am tempted to sell my 24" iMac and spring for the 27" like you have. My iMac is still going strong even though it's from the early '08 generation but the extra screen real estate and newer innards of the 27" are making my trigger finger itchy...:)
