I don't have an answer. it all depends on you. in my case, I don't need tablet at all because I carry my laptop all the time. actually, it works more than anything. however, I own amazon kindle fire (old version). but I barely use it. I even forget to recharge it. by the way, I preordered ipod touch 5th Gen. because it is what I want. I didn't change my touch yet since 2008. yeah, I own 2nd generation touch. so it should be changed this time. it's so slower.

oh, the speaking of ipad mini, I am not even sure how people will react when you just can buy new ipad (3rd Gen.). it's much better than any tablet on Earth. I heard that mini hardware spec is very closed to ipad 2 with no retina display.

I would go for the ipod 5 and ipad mini may not be released for months!

I like them both. It looks like the media event for the mini will be just before the Touch's shipping dates so there will be time to compare the two based on more than rumor. It's possible I just may get both. What I need in the mini is a 3G model with GPS - without that the mini is just a big Touch. :D
The second half of October is becoming very exciting. I just got an email notifying me that my Kindle PaperWhite E-reader has shipped and I will get it next week! The Touch is still too small for a good ereader and the mini will be too big so the Paperwhite is just right for that purpose. I love Apple but the ereader market is one that they have not really gone for.
