You mean when talking about weight?

If so, that's strange. iPhone 6 weighs 129 grams, while the 6s weighs 143 grams. The moment I picked up my 6s I immediately felt the difference.

If you meant the feeling of the actual material: well 7000 Series Aluminium feels exactly the same indeed. There's no difference in feeling of the material itself. But to me, it does weigh more and it feels better. A lighter phone can be great, but the iPhone 6 sometimes felt a bit too light when I got it the first time. That's one of the reasons I bought a case back then. That alone made it feel a lot better in the hands. The 6s already feels better without a case (though I did put one on it, but a very light one).
I meant the touch feeling. They seem identical to me

I think they are, in fact I have a 5c, planning on going with the 6s. It's worth the $100 for me.

IDK. It just had a better feel for some reason. Can't really explain it. Perhaps it's the difference in the aluminum Apple is using with the 6s+ but my 6+ felt smoother, more slick in the hand. That, I know, equates to the slipperiness lots of people don't like about the phone but I liked it.

I know that the 6s+ is slightly thicker to accommodate 3D Touch, but I'm not really using 3D Touch at the moment even though I have it on.

I might feel somewhat different when the iOS 9 jailbreak comes out - we'll see. It could be that right now everything on my phone is disorganized as I'm waiting for the JB before I start sorting things. I have JB data in my backup (that I restored to) that is waiting to be accessed again as far as organizing my stuff.
Very good reasoning for spending extra cash on a phone, FEELS GOOD IN MA HANDS.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, so I'll just say this…I buy what I want. Need is irrelevant. If need happens to square with what I want - fine. If I don't need it - I don't care. I want it. That's enough.

I buy the color I want, the capacity I want (the maximum) and the model I want. I spend 2 to 3.5 years with my phones and I'm not going to be stuck with "I should have…" or "could have…". I want to like and enjoy the phone I'm going to be spending that much time with.

So, looks and feel are an important factor to me and not so much features and definitely not "Do I need this?". If the day comes when an iPhone can't make a phone call I'll probably buy something else. But until then I will purchase what I want even if those reasons are solely based on nothing more than "it feels good in my hands".

So coming from a 5S, its time to buy a new phone (sim free). Here in the UK from Apple brand new, the 6 16GB (its all I need storage wise) is £459. The 6S 16GB brand new is £539. That's £80 more for all you wizards.

Obviously the brand new 6 has the standard 1 year Apple warranty and is new so wont have tons of battery cycles that a used one would. The general consensus is that battery life between the 6 and 6S is similar and not noticeably different (some cases worse). I don't take tons of photos, and the camera on the 6 is still a decent camera. The only differences are the faster TouchID (does anyone really are for an extra 0.2m/s speed for TouchID?), Live Photos (which doesn't seem to have been a huge hit) and 3DTouch which, whilst useful for somethings, isn't a deal breaker for me and some have said it can be awkward and takes getting used to. Speed wise, I've used a 6 and 6+ before and they were quick enough.

iPhone 6 Advantages:
-Cheaper (£459)
-Very similar battery life to 6S

iPhone 6 Disadvantages:
-Not the "newest" model
-Doesn't have new features like a better camera, faster TouchID, 3DTouch and live photos
-Resale will be less than the 6S in a years time

So - is it really worth it? I'm really swinging towards the 6 as it is still a great phone, is £80 cheaper for the handset, looks almost identical to the 6S and the battery life is pretty much the same.

Anyone stuck with their 6 and waiting for the 7?

Go for 6s its little heavier but also heavy on specs. 6 is also good but there is £80 difference. That difference in payment will give you lot of new features plus the satisfaction that you have the latest iPhone.

The hard thing about this question is always the poster's financial situation. I can't know how significant the price difference is. For some people, it might be the difference between paying bills or not. For others, it might be a rounding error. So it's a hard question to answer in the abstract.

That said, I have a 6 and am happy with it, but if I were buying a new phone, I'd go for the 6s. The differences are minor, but so is the price difference. The 6s will feel capable a year longer, and you'll appreciate the small improvements even now.

This is a much better answer than the crap one you gave earlier for choosing a 6s over a 6. Because you want it, plain and simple.

It sounds a lot like you've convinced yourself to buy the 6 already and save the £80, and you're posting here because you want us all to tell you that's the right decision and 6S isn't all that.

Personally I can't really do that; £80 isn't a lot relative to the cost of buying and using one of these phones, and it buys you a lot of improvements. The 6S is a beast. The processor (either of them) is a big step up, especially when combined with the extra 1Gb ram and the new faster nand controller. It's a noticeable difference now and will become ever more important in the future as as apps and iOS itself develops. Having 3D Touch and the new Taptic engine on board is important for the same reasons, these are building blocks that will become more essential as time goes on.

On top of that you have the much better build quality with the stronger aluminium, again making it a much better investment overall.

Finally don't underestimate the Touch ID improvements. On paper it might not seem like much, but think about how often you unlock your phone and it really adds up. Touch ID is so instantaneous on the 6S I completely forget the phone is reading my fingerprint or that I have any form of lock on the phone, I simply pick up the phone and I'm using it before I even know any better. It's fantastic.

I was in exactly the same situation as the OP, but managed to pick up a brand new still sealed iPhone 6 for £310 delivered, which made it a no brainer for me. Didn't think the 6s was worth the extra £229 for a light user like me.

The answer I gave earlier (that you quoted) was in response to a question about why I liked my 6+ over the 6s+ I have now.

But, yes. I did get the 6s+ because I wanted it. The fact that at the time I had to trade in my 6+ for the promotional deal I'm getting to port over to T-Mobile from Sprint is secondary. I could have just chosen a new 6+ on T-Mobile, but I decided I wanted to go ahead and upgrade because that option was available to me.

But my previous answer to the other user about why I liked my old 6+ better than my current 6s+ was based entirely on subjective feelings and is why I responded that way.

Go with the 6S. Yes it is more money, but if you are already willing to spend the money on a 6, stretch just a bit further and get the S. I have both and the S is superior in every way except battery, they're about the same with battery life.

The extra ram may not seem like a big deal now, but if you plan on keeping this phone for more than a year, you will appreciate it later. The camera is improved and the new touch features are pretty useful once you get familiar with them. As someone else stated, even the internal boost in ram and processor is enough to justify the difference in cost. The other features like Touch ID improvement, camera, etc are just a bonus.

While we don't know your financial situation, common sense tells me that if you can afford the 6, you can spring for the 6S.

I have been using the 6+ for a year now and got the 6S+ on launch day. Unfortunately I had to return it, and two others due to screen blemishes. I think that having this experience has let me put the hype aside and look coldly at the differences between the phones.

For myself, the only real advantages of the 6S+ were the optically stabilized video and the general speed of the device.

I felt a lot of the other changes were for the worse, or were things I didn't need. The biggest issue was the display quality as compared to the 6+. I think it seems that in implementing 3D Touch they have had to make sacrifices with display consistency. It's no where near as good as my old 6+. I mostly use my phone for texting and other visual tasks so the display is the most important element for me. It can not be broken or fatiguing.

Other issues were decreased battery life, weight, and a step back with music playback quality through headphones. If you don't believe me on the music playback see the Gsmarena review. This is perhaps the worst measuring iPhone ever released for sound quality.

Now I feel I am fortunate I didn't sell my 6+, and seeing as I have Applecare+ on it until the iPhone 7 comes out next year I think I will be happy to use my 6+ until then.

Are you saying that you found the 6S+ display fatiguing?

I found the display inconsistencies and the slightly colder color temperature to make it fatiguing to my eyes. I didn't enjoy using it.

In comparison my 6+ display is soothing.

I find that my otherwise sensational 6S+ causes my eyes to feel fatigued. I don't have any real (noticeable) screen inconsistencies to speak of, but the display is definitely cooler than my 6+.
My old iPhone 4 has an even cooler display and that never caused me any problems, in fact it was the least fatiguing device I've ever used so I'm wondering what else the problem could be. I don't see anyone else bringing the subject up so perhaps my eyes just need to 'attune' to the new display.
