Hello,

I have exchanged Airpods Pro 2 and the new ones came with turned on personalized spatial audio. I am suspisious that it is not new.. what do u think guys?

Just strange feeling. There was dust inside Airpods Pro 2 as well and I do not remember that I would have the same experience with first pair of APP2. The sound is quite different as well

Well, did you buy them at the Apple Store? That would be the first question I have. The next would be where they sealed?

Maybe give them the quick trusty taste test for earwax 😀

The AirPods have no involvement in the personalized spatial audio setup, its based on your ears shape... even though you changed the headphones your ears remained the same...

I bought them from Apple Store with personalization name on them.

In the Airpods Pro 2 case is some dirt that could not be remove (some black dot). It came with earlier fw so it shousl be again. But after I set personalized spatial audio and then factorx reset APP2 the setting remains the same. So I think I will return it again..

I do not like when something is not 100 %..

In case you missed all the other people, saying it, the personalized special audio isn’t in the AirPods. It’s in whatever device you’re using.

I do not understand this. Do you mean that when I set Airpods Pro 2 for personalization spatial audio , this settings is transfered to new Airpods Pro 2 automatically?

It’s in the device. Like your iPhone. The AirPods themselves don’t have an understanding of this spacial audio. I didn’t even have AirPods Pro and my phone said hey, do you want to set up special audio. Now the AirPods Pro I bought after I set this up have spatial audio.

So you do not have Airpods Pro but you know everything? That does not sound rellevant to me..

If your reply is to my comment, you did not read it or understand it. Perhaps it’s a reply to another comment because you didn’t quote it.

I have 2 pairs of AirPods Pro 2. When I got the first pair from the Apple Store, I did the Personalized Spacial Audio setup and my iPhone 14 Pro Max asked me to take pictures of my ears and all that stuff. Then, 2 days later got a second pair brand new from Best Buy and Personalized Spacial Audio was already turned ON and working because those setting were saved in my iPhone 14 Pro Max when I did the setup for the first pair.

I have owned every pair of AirPods and currently own APP2. I ran the beta of iOS 16 from the beginning, in which Personalized Spatial Audio was introduced. Notice how this feature was introduced **before** the APP2.

It is a setting attached to your Apple ID, not the hardware. You can exchange them again but your experience will be the exact same.

That is the answer I want to hear. Thanks for that.

I have owned Airpods from the beginning as well and last APP gave to my gf but I never pay attention to these details..

Maybe it will be same but at least there will be no dirt and smudges inside the case.

As others have said the very first one you get it likely has you set it up. It's in the device self. It's interesting because for me I had to set up the personalized spatial audio through my Airpods Max (which I got on launch day). When I got the APP2, I thought that I'd had to set it up again but appears that I did not had to.

I'm sure you may have to reset it on your device and not from the airpods.

I purchased mine from a local Verizon store and came with spatial audio enabled, I immediately disabled it. Was only on 15.7 at the time, updated to 16.0.3 and it turned itself back on, disabled again. I think they just really want people to try out the new feature.
