Apple's new second-generation AirPods Pro look to address a common complaint of AirPods Pro users: My AirPods Pro don't fit. For the first time, Apple is now offering a new extra small silicone ear tip size with its AirPods Pro earphones, helping customers who may have found the previous generation difficult to use.

The second-generation AirPods Pro will now come with extra small, small, medium, and large silicone ear tips. Ear tips on the AirPods Pro are interchangeable, and Apple offers an ear tips test within iOS to ensure customers get a tight seal to make sure features like Active Noise Cancelation can work properly.

In terms of the actual design of the new AirPods Pro, not much has changed. The new AirPods Pro have the same stem as the previous generation with the same silicone ear tip functionality but they come with added features. The new AirPods Pro, thanks to the new H2 chip, can now offer Active Noise Cancelation that is twice as effective.

The second-generation AirPods Pro also comes with a new MagSafe Charging Case that includes a speaker for Find My and alerts for pairing and low battery, a hook to attach a lanyard, and the ability to charge using an Apple Watch charger. The second-generation AirPods Pro are available to pre-order from Apple on Friday, September 9 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time and will begin arriving to customers on Friday, September 23.

None of the included tips ever worked that well for me and I've never been sure if that's because I needed a silicone tip that is bigger or smaller, so maybe XS will work for my ears.

Otherwise it'll be continuation of using Comply's foam tips which have worked great for me the last few years. I assume they will still fit the new Pros as the design hasn't changed?

I just bought the SONY WF-1000XM4 instead because my AirPod Pro have literally died completely, including the case for no reason 2 days ago. Supposedly these r the best in terms of noise cancellation. I hope I am not gonna regret that decision. I just could not wait for the AirPro 2 to come out in more then a week from now. I need my music

I did exactly the same, went from Airpods Pro to Sony's, but mainly because I switched to Android after 15 years...

Well now I am tempted a bit. I always found the tips uncomfortable but maybe my ears are just small.

you can return them if you bought them online

My ears are weird. On my current AirPods Pro the S silicone tip fits fine on my right ear but doesn’t go in well on my left ear….. perhaps the XS tip will help…. I’ve been using foam master tips which work great though so I’m not going to upgrade because of a tip

If the airpods pro keep falling off... does it mean I am using too small tips, and therefore they aren't snug enough? Or too large tips so they are not deep enough. I keep trying my wife's pros but they are just aren't secure enough. Regular airpods for me so far.

It looks like Apple has quietly moved the vent away from your ear, I assume to try and alleviate it getting gunked up with crap from your ear which caused the ANC to stop working over time

I assumed so as well but in the store they now sell different replacement tips for the 1st and 2nd generation models so they may have changed the size/shape of the stem otherwise why have different SKUs for each generation's tips?

Good on them for including more options, but I already gave up on earbuds years ago. My ears are too weird shaped and tips of any size just will not stay in. The Comply foam tips work well, but I hate how often they need to be replaced.

I bet none of these will fit my ear properly. The current ones do not and the new extra small air tip won’t help. My ears need something in between medium and large.

Am I the only one who developed an allergy against the airpods and their eartips ?
Nope, I have the same problem with my Beats and AirPod Pros. Wear them for any amount of time and my ear swells up. I never had an issue with my original Beats wireless, but started with a newer version, then decided to try AirPod Pros and exact same issue. Even tried different tips. I ended sending a notice to Apple about it but never heard anything back. Now I don’t have any issues with standard AirPods.

Have you got a link to the 2nd gen tips? Can't see them anywhere

You and me both. I'm expecting the Sony's to be a huge sonic upgrade, because let's be honest the APP's didn't sound all that great, and was perceptibly worse with ANC enabled.

The best thing the APP's had in their favour was seamless integration with Apple devices. Now I'll be back to that clunky "will it or won't it" manual pairing of BT audio devices in iOS15/16.
