You and me both. I'm expecting the Sony's to be a huge sonic upgrade, because let's be honest the APP's didn't sound all that great, and was perceptibly worse with ANC enabled.

The best thing the APP's had in their favour was seamless integration with Apple devices. Now I'll be back to that clunky "will it or won't it" manual pairing of BT audio devices in iOS15/16.
I disagree, APP sounds great and balanced and this is backed by some audiophiles reviews I've seen. Sony sound signature is completely different, too warm and too much bass, but maybe that's your thing.

Shame they couldn't do foam tips. I predict these will still fall out.
Even with the comply foam tips, it always felt like they were going to fall out. While a successful product for Apple, I consider it one of their worst designs. I was hoping for something better with this iteration.

The problem isn't the tips, it's the size of the AirPod. Look how much further in the in-ear headphones are allowed to go in to the ear canal. My 15 year old in-Ear headphones still fit like a glove. The silicon is different as well, the 2008 version is more rubbery whereas the AirPods Pros are slippery. Truly baffling.

Anyone still prefer the OG%3F A decade o.jpeg

What APP’s needed more than anything are tips (1) in XL size (2) made of something less slippery and (3) made of stiffer material. Damned things never stayed in my ears without the DYI hybrid tip mod.

My ears are weird. On my current AirPods Pro the S silicone tip fits fine on my right ear but doesn’t go in well on my left ear….. perhaps the XS tip will help…. I’ve been using foam master tips which work great though so I’m not going to upgrade because of a tip

Not that unusual - humans are generally not perfectly symmetric. For example, one of my eyes is slightly lower, so glasses need tiny tweek to fit properly; even if the difference is not notable.

How’s the switch going? I’m genuinely curious. I’m a long time Apple user but I admire android devices from afar.
Same here, been using iPhone for 15 years, but I wanted to try something different. I am not using any iOS specific apps, switched Apple Pay for Google Pay and Garmin Pay. Using different products from different companies I don't have advantages of ecosystem, but everything is working great. Every device I am using, you can say is flagship device (Garmin Epix 2, Fold 4, Sony wf-1000xm4), so no problems there.

Fold 4 is interesting device, multitasking is great, waiting for case with s-pen. I wish Apple would make something like this. SmartSwitch app was enough for me to migrate data, ofc I lot of manual work with authentication, mdm and banking apps, but that's ok.

Epix 2, touchscreen, buttons, bright oled sapphire screen, two weeks of battery life, great health and training insights. You cannot take calls or message, but I knew that, and I wasn't using that much on my AW.

WF-1000XM4's, great sound and NC, solid ambient mode, some nice touches like speak to chat (stops your music, video when you speak), great battery life, integration with Android is seamless. No multi-point, that's a bummer, but they work great on Android, macOS, Windows.

All in all, it's great, and I am not iOS vs Android, macOS vs Windows person, I am using everything.

I’ve ordered, but I expect to return them after having the same problem with the previous AirPods and AirPods Pro.

My ear canals are medium-large, and I use those tips, but the geometry of my outer ear is such that the AirPods/Pro can’t fit in far enough for the tips to engage.

If I cram them in, I get a hotspot of pressure as the casing jams my outer ear.

I’ve tried aftermarket foam tips, but the only ones that work are the longer ones that don’t fit in the case.

So I’m still rocking the Apple “In-Ear” Headphones, wishing I could upgrade. 🤷‍♂️

Exactly this for me. The dang things don’t reach into my ear.

I’m on my last set of the In Ear Headphones, wish I could switch, but…

If the airpods pro keep falling off... does it mean I am using too small tips, and therefore they aren't snug enough? Or too large tips so they are not deep enough. I keep trying my wife's pros but they are just aren't secure enough. Regular airpods for me so far.

They’re just bad tips. I had never had an issue with silicone tip earbuds falling out before, yet with the AirPods Pro, every single size would fall out of my ears with the slightest head movement. It made me kind of hate and regret buying them, until I bought the Dekoni foam tips–and suddenly the AirPods stayed in perfectly! I don’t know if it’s the particular material Apple uses, but it’s terrible.

Good on them for including more options, but I already gave up on earbuds years ago. My ears are too weird shaped and tips of any size just will not stay in. The Comply foam tips work well, but I hate how often they need to be replaced.

I’d suggest the Dekoni tips. They hold up for about two years (I got mine before Comply’s came out), and once they were starting to come apart (this spring) I switched to Comply. The Comply basically dissolved within 3 months. I’m going to switch back to Dekoni.

Wish they had come out with a XL (or even Xxl) tip instead of an XS tip. Some of us are larger people and have appropriately larger ear canals. (6’6” in my case)

I wish I could use use the AirPods Pro, but I can't stand jamming things in my ears to create a proper seal. I'm sure it depends on the individual though.

Am I the only one who developed an allergy against the airpods and their eartips ?
Nope, I did too. Miserable itching and skin weeping. I bought the Comply foam tips and it made a big difference.

I have the same issue, but had success with Jabras. They're not as feature full but they are ok.
