Just got my new Apple card yesterday. Tried to use it at Freddies without any luck. Don't know if Freddies accepts Master Card, but I'm guessing they do.

Today went to Safeway and pulled the card out again. This time it worked fine after shoving it into the chip reader. Tap function didn't work or I'm just not a good tapper.

Next even though I did have to pay my bill until Oct 31st, I clicked on "pay immediately". My wallet says it received money from my Key Bank account but don't see a debit from my Key account yet. Maybe they do a sweep at the end of the day.

I had my phone with me today, but wondering if I need the phone close by when using the card? Or can I now use the card viea my phone even if I leave the card at home?

Physical Apple Card doesn’t have tap functionality built in. You need to use your phone or watch, if the retailer accepts payments through that method.
