new Apple Hardware Test on 2013 models

I just wanted to try out the good old Apple Hardware Test (AHT), but it seems that it was replaced by a new "Apple Diagnostic" mode.

Some tests are missing, such as screen test and extended memory test. 🙁

I'm wondering that nobody has noticed it so far... 😕

Usually it's not among the first things I'll do on a new Mac. But after my newly purchased MBA suddenly went black it seemed to be a good idea.

Just tried to use the diagnostic start up, it goes into the screen, I select English, then the pointer freezes and I have to power off.

Try to use the cursor keys instead of the trackpad. Be sure to have a wifi network available or the thunderbolt ethenert adaptor connected. As far as I know the starter downloads the image from the internet.

My MBA replacement is scheduled to arrive on Monday...

Thanks, the cursor keys made no difference, but after the fifth shut down it went into examination mode and reported no problems.
