Agree 100%!

Beats Flex are nothing but an unsightly decoy product that serve only to convince you to get AirPods.

The constant rattling of the cord make it impossible to even use them while slowly walking around at home. And you can completely forget running with them. And the sound is muffled and has way too much low-end.

Apple must be sitting on a mountain of Beats Flex that no retailers want to buy and Apple can't sell either.

Even just a $10-$20 discount on any of the true wireless Beats or AirPods would be a much better deal.

100% agree. I got one pair for my younger daughter as she wanted some small headphones, but she hated them. I kept them hoping that she would change her mind. that never happened. One day, my wife lost her AirPods 2, she tried the flex for 5 minutes and tossed them and grabbed the wired earpods. I actually had a hard time giving them away for free and was very close to tossing them into the garbage!

Beats Flex are… not great at music playback.

They’re fine for podcasts and other spoken content. I use them that way. The integration with macOS and iOS is also great. But music? Very poor quality.
Guess thats why they are so easy to give away. But they do help market Apple Music for Students deal now that the price is $5.99 USD a month along with free Apple TV plus. :)

Instead of raising the price and then giving away “free” stuff, maybe they should have just left the price alone and simply delivered the service that was being paid for.
You don't get it. If Apple kept the old lower pricing, Apple doesn't get to realize the extra revenue.

By raising the price while giving away the Beats Flex, Apple gets the extra revenue and they can use the cost of the Beats Flex as a tax deduction since it qualifies as an ordinary and necessary business expense. This strategy allows Apple to lower their tax bill and offers them a better ROI (return on investment).

You think Apple didn't have their accountants carefully look into this (and other promotions) to determine what would benefit them the most? 🤣

They are free so can’t complain. I got a pair for free when I bought a new Apple Watch last year. I never use them. They are in third place behind my AirPods max and AirPods Pro but they were free so I can’t really say anything negative about them.

Paid for by Apple Music subscribers who are paying full price.
Actually it‘s likely to be paid out of the the money Apple would likely earn from future subscription revenue from those new users. That’s typically how these customer acquisition costs are calculated.

I had two pair; one went through the wash (not recommended) and the other pair quit. I have a large neck, and I wish Apple made a longer length for my type. I'd still use them if they did that.

I’m quite pissed about this actually. I’ve had an Apple Music subscription for a few years now and the student subscription for a year. First, they raise the price for their loyal customers. Then, they decide to give a $70 value to their new customers without doing anything for the customers that have supported them for a while in the past. Screw apple, I’m switching to Spotify.
