Apple this evening introduced a new series of tutorial videos, this time highlighting Apple Pay on the iPhone.

One of the videos, which is unlisted, goes through the steps necessary to use Apple Pay Cash, the peer-to-peer Apple Pay feature Apple plans to add in a future iOS 11 update. Apple has already demonstrated most of these steps, but it's interesting to see the simplicity of it in action from end to end.

As described by Apple, users simply need to open the Messages app, go to the App Drawer, tap Apple Pay, enter an amount, and approve the payment with Touch ID.

Apple also mentions approving Apple Pay Cash payments with Face ID, the facial recognition feature on the upcoming iPhone X. Payments received can be accessed through the Apple Pay Cash card in Wallet. There's no word on when Apple Pay Cash will be released, but it could come in the next major iOS update ahead of when the iPhone X launches.

Given that this Apple Pay Cash video is unlisted, it could potentially be removed from YouTube or made private.

The other two videos videos walk users through how to add a card to the iPhone's Wallet app to use with Apple Pay and how to pay in stores with a Touch ID-equipped iPhone.

Like all of Apple's previous tutorial videos, the Apple Pay tutorials are short, to the point, and primarily designed for users who may not often use these features. Apple has also done a series of tutorial videos on iOS 11 features new to the iPad Pro and iPhone 7 camera features.

Update: Unfortunately, Apple has removed the accidentally-release peer-to-peer Apple Pay video.

Kind of concerning that once an Apple Pay request pops up on the iPhone X, it will process as soon as it sees your face. What's to stop some website from requesting $10,000 from you and then having it instantly process because it saw your face? I really don't like that.
I’m pretty sure they missed the part where you double click the side button to approve.. then it just needs to confirm with faceID
[doublepost=1506044962][/doublepost]I want to know what the charge back policies are. Is it totally like cash? Or is there a way to charge back the transaction?

You have to make an instant decision and make a frowny face, to decline the transaction. Like this:

I wonder if this will be included in 11.0.1 instead of 11.1. Probably won't take much to activate it.

I would prefer to put in a passcode or use Touch ID when making payments. The whole Face ID thing is a bit of a worry.

The user has to approve with a tap. I don't see what the problem is.

From what I understand, in addition to the funds going onto the Apple Pay Cash card in Wallet, it could also be set up so the funds go directly into your bank account instead.

They can do it like Venmo. It's either stored in your Apple Pay account, or you click a couple buttons and its transferred back to your bank (debit card) account.

Can we only send exact dollar amounts with no change? What if i want to send someone $4.75 instead of $5? If this can’t be done then Square Cash still wins.

Nothing against beggars on the streets, but i could imagine them having fun with p2p. No more collecting coins and carrying them around. They would be pulling their iphones out and says, "thank you, sir. Hey siri, how much do i have?" Siri:"you collected x amount."

Do you actually think that no one has thought of this? I'm pretty sure you have to confirm any transaction. That's just a common sense basic precaution. Also, how would a website even force your Apple Pay to launch and enter an amount?

Kinda bummed this is a "new" feature for iMessage. China (WeChat) has had it for years and it's completely saturated the Chinese market. I really want to switch to iMessage full-time but it'll be hard to convince my friends to do the same...

If you're worried then don't use it Lol.

I think people are taking Face ID wayyy out of proportion. It's not that serious.

The talk of being robbed and the robber holding your phone to your face, the talk of girlfriends unlocking your phone while you're sleep... Now people are afraid of accidentally sending money?

Jeeeez Louise.

They probably didn’t think of this and there probably isn’t a solution in the software since it was first in development by a secret team of 5 people at Apple in early 2016.

If security and privacy matter, things take much longer. Security and privacy matter to Apple.

Now, this sounds like I probably praise everything Apple does, but I think they have some of the stupidest humans on the planet for not hiding the notch.

It shows in the center ‘tap for keyboard’. I’ll let you judge what that likely means.

So if you're checking out on some website, if Apple Pay is an option, once you select it, the window just pops up and requests your finger print via Touch ID to verify payment consent. A malicious website may bypass the traditional "Checkout" or "Place Order" buttons bringing you right to the payment method, where they could have Apple Pay as the only option, thus having the Apple Pay window pop up immediately. As for the amount, a malicious website could put whatever arbitrary amount they want, e.g. $10,000, as your "order total."
