Even reputable sites can be hacked. And yes, there are other ways to mess with your device, but none that could easily get actual money from you so easily.

You’re being paranoid if you think what you’re describing is easy or at all likely.

It’s not really different from people who avoid online shopping or banking because they fear that their info will be intercepted. Theoretically possible, but do you ever hear about it happening? Well, aside from Equifax, but that’s different.

My point is that any malicious site or hacker that can force initiate a FaceID scan and confirmation on your device probably could bypass TouchID or a Passcode as well.

Looks like you can't send cents and dims. That's ok for most purposes, but problematic when you need to make a precise payment.

Apple engineers have been working on this for a while, probably years. You just thought of this ten minutes ago. Who has put the most thought into it, them or you? I'm certain that payment windows don't just pop up for automatic faceID. When money is changing hands, there has to be interaction with the user.

By the same token Apple has put years into thought of Music playback and control on the Apple Watch but screwed up by removing music control via “source” option on Apple Watch in OS4.

I noticed this in 10mins.

Thought and design is one thing - fully testing is another.

How do you send the money back to your bank?

Why on God’s green earth would you want to send money back to the bank?! ;)

My sphere of friends and family is more inclusive than What is available for money transfers through iMassage. Apparently, as progressive as they claim to be, the reality they draw the line on anything that doesn’t directly contribute to their bottom line. While I, personally, can wait for an international feature, I’ll continue to use GoogleCash, Venmo and Cash until Apple can figure out how to the inclusive. get this feature right. In other words, they won’t even be getting iMessage Apple Pay transfers until my Neanderthal Android friends are included.

Fair. And I hope you’re right. But just because I thought of something doesn’t automatically imply Apple has also thought of the same thing. Likely, perhaps; but not guaranteed. I just want to ensure my financial data is secure. I can’t make any assumptions about what Apple has thought if and whether or not they’ve set safeguards to prevent that. If they have, they would explicitly tell us about it. E.g. squeezing buttons on the side of the phone to disable Face ID, and Face ID working with most sunglasses. Apple was open with us about how those things work. I just hope they’re open and honest about how Face ID works with Apple Pay.
I’ve heard and read multiple interviews that explained that you need to tap the side button to confirm Apple Pay with Face ID. Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean the info isn’t out there.
