Is the old Apple Pencil completely useless on this new model? Is there some way to Bluetooth pair it without the lightning connector? Would be nice use it even if I have to charge it with a brick.

The original Apple Pencil was $99. At $129, is this new pencil really 30% faster, etc?

I like the new features, but it seems like Apple greedily takes any chance it can to raise prices.

Is the new Pencil slimmer? The first generation Pencil is so bulky and that makes it uncomfortable to use for long periods of time.

What do you think makes all these new gestures and features work in the Pencil? Have you ever looked at the original pencil tear down? It’s *crazy* engineering. I imagine the new one will show yet another step forward for miniaturization of tech.

I wonder if they have addressed the issues with the Smart Keyboard? I have been researching a good iPad Keyboard and the reviews for the keyboard after a year are not pretty.

No backlit keyboard—especiaaly at this price—is idiotic. I’ll wait for Logitech’s options.
Agreed! Any idea when Logitech will release new options? I’m pretty sure when I bought my last pro, Logitech had them ready to go...

Nearly 2.5x the price of the regular Apple bluetooth keyboard, which has wireless connectivity, a battery, Lightning, sturdy metal and plastic construction. I paid $20 CAD for a Logitech K400+ keyboard, which has a built in trackpad and wireless connectivity. and Apple wants $240 CAD for this plastic thing with no connectivity, backlight etc.?

The Folio is pretty much a must have anyway, with the camera bump.
I just hope the case makes it flush.

Is the Folio all that can be used right now? The 39.00 Smart cover in accessories isn’t for the 11” I Pad Pro?

Amazon does have smart covers/cases for the 11 and 12.9" 2018 models, for CHEAP. Always my go-to place for covers.

What I almost cannot accept it that there is no magnetic edge for a front-only smart cover. They are all back-and-front covers, and the front cover does not detach when you just want it off the iPad. If I keep the 12.9 I just ordered, it may have to just go naked as I *hate* the folio covers that cover the back. More bulk, weight, and not flexible to remove foldable front cover.

Disappointing.

So apple is going into “dark” theme with their Mac Pro and iOS, also not having a white bevel option. But the pencil is white? It’s just not matching the aesthetic Apple is moving into. I was hoping to see at least an option for a space grey pencil.

And I also hate white for something I’m gonna use everyday.
