I find the term "Apple-Branded" interesting.

Probably being manufactured by LG or Samsung, but with an Apple logo on the display and Apple printing on the shipping carton.

This is good news. I think once the iMacs come out late this year, it'll give us a clearer picture if what an Apple 5K display will be like.

I'm interested in seeing what kind of I/O it'll have.

It's not an April fools prank is it?

Hope not.  pls get rid of the Darth Vader trash can, and bring back an upgradeable designed machine that we can contain all our SSD's, HDD's, RAM, I/O ports – in ONE box. And a  matching display that will do it justice.

Wish list for this item would be

144hz+
Thunderbolt 3
USB-A hub
Ethernet
Camera
Speakers
Built in upgradable graphics card
8k would be nice but the above is more important.

I'd like it to be a 32" display that is at least 5K.

It would also be neat for it to utilise TWO of the Mac's USB-C ports to make it a proper 'hub' (usb speeds on the LG 5K display were stinted) and for it to allow other inputs such as HDMI (with the appropriate scaling ability).

I'm not bothered by camera or speakers. The most important thing for me is inputs and speed of the hub/outputs.

I would like for Apple to also design and sell a vesa display arm, that allows the displays to be rotated to portrait mode for example.

Touch screen / pen (eg. wacom) ability as well, would be awesome..

Sounds like every other Apple product

The ACD's - especially the 30" Cinema displays were uniquely an Apple design. Last of the great displays. Here's hoping Apple can best it. But to do that,  need to bring the new display out in a matte screen. Not glossy glass - which just shows your reflection

It will probably be a new interface, not used by anyone else in the industry. It will be called something like USB-A2 (A2 stands for amazing squared).

I don't think this display is "coming soon". Another 12 months away I'd say...
