Is is April 1st? That Apple website is terrible. People can't create their own personal and meaningful way to acknowledge their moms these days, they need a completely white sliced bread commercial solution? This is just like all the gimmicks Facebook puts out into the world. If this is where Apple is heading, I'm getting off at the next stop. Completely lame.

Well...Have a nice trip!

This. Facebook (although I just loathe them) makes amazing videos automatically. Apple comes out with ... this? Unimpressive. Although, you'll get a hundred comments here about people who feel you shouldn't comment if you aren't in love with whatever move Apple makes, even if it's lame.
Facebook doesn't make great videos either. They're formulaic- seen one, seen them all. The best videos are ones users design and make up themselves.
I agree, criticize Apple and no matter how valid the criticism is, the Apple forum crew come attacking.
[doublepost=1462609787][/doublepost]I just saw this new Apple advertisement on TV, and the problem is those photo/videos 'shot on iPhone' could have been shot on any phone. There is nothing suggesting a great or different experience using the iPhone, just an ordinary one. The campaign is completely half baked. Marketing at Apple is out of control.

So after creating it, I found that the video can only be shared or saved to FaceBook? But I do not have Facebook. I do not want FaceBook. In fact, I am really sick of FaceBook's ubiquity, and now Apple have signed on as well.

Fail.

Yes, these days. There is something entirely commercial, ugly and insincere about this 'Shot on iPhone' Mother's Day Video' that isn't experienced with a card whether the card be branded or home made. The Apple website for this is simply atrocious as well and something a web designer could make in a quarter of an hour with a blind fold on. I'd be embarrassed to send that.
As heavily populated with well educated, intelligent employees as Apple is, the stupid stuff they do never ceases to amaze me.

Apple's standards are dropping.
Yes indeed... Apple's continued march towards the abyss of mediocrity, is a disturbing trend to watch.

The more I think about this, the more I'm disappointed in Apple.
Apple should apply a filter on what is released into public and use the word "NO" more often.
This Mother's Day campaign is a completely missed opportunity. Uploading an image to feature in what is a very average video sequence misses the mark entirely.
What Apple could have done was a simple elegant advertisement showing users calling their mom's with an iPhone, highlighting the most basic but most intimate features of the iPhone, making a simple phone call to say "hi" and "thanks".
