Awesome I work in the loop, and hated going to the Michigan ave store with all the tourists ... Only good thing there was the eye candy.
LOL! The last two times I was at the Michigan Avenue store, I literally bumped into Vince Vaughn (while he was looking at iPhones) and saw Irish rocker/actor Glen Hansard (who had just done a music performance tied to his movie Once). One sales associates said she sees celebrities pretty regularly.
Many of my friends work close to Congress and Michigan, so they should appreciate the South Loop location. It will probably be the best parking situation of any Apple Store downtown, too.
I wish Apple had opened one at Grand Avenue and Victoria in St. Paul like they had once planned. A small store on Nicollet in Minneapolis would be good, too, servicing the downtown businesses and close to the light rail. Additionally, a larger store near the East Bank to service the U of M and various graphics design firms, artists and software developers in Nordeast, the Warehouse District and around the Mill District would generate serious money. The Uptown Store just doesn't cut it. Thank goodness for First Tech!
