I ordered my new 12.9" iPad Pro and Apple TV at the same time and noticed that my iPad, which has shipped and will arrive on Friday, was sent with "Standard Shipping," where as my Apple TV, which has not yet shipped, has always shown "Express Delivery." So I figured it wouldn't update until launch day got closer. Anyone else see the different shipping methods?

Don't know when mine will arrive, but when it does I'm sure it will be EXTREMELY well packed, because they've been "preparing to ship" it for 5 days! Now THAT'S what I call outstanding customer service! 🤣

In Canada, ordered the larger version at 8AM on Launch day, received shipping notification 3 hours ago.

I'm guessing the majority of those who got their orders in right away will get shipping notices, tomorrow, for a Friday delivery.

Sigh, orders for this and the ipad are 'being prepared' even though I ordered within 15 minutes of them going live....if they aren't shipped by the 21st, i may just go into the store and cancel the online ones.

I put "designer" in quotes because I don't think you can call yourself a "designer" if you are merely an "aesthetic designer". Functional design is critical to good design. And Apple's hardware and software products during Jony Ive's reign at the top (when he had fewer checks against his vision than when he was lower down) show a consistent, steady decline in functional design. Something that Apple is only just now recovering from.

And no amount of laurels from the aesthetic design community is going to change my opinion that Jony's Apple products took a big step backward in functional design.

The ENORMOUS amount of backlash across their line in this regard indicates to me that I am not alone in this.

And no doubt that backstep and that backlash was the reason he was pushed out. Laurels or not.
He was a one-trick pony. Thin and light. Must have been a fashion designer in a previous life.

Had the despatch notification for mine, due to arrive on the 24th - it would probably be tomorrow but I live in the Scottish highlands so everything takes that little bit longer to arrive. This means the current AppleTV HD can replace the ageing v3 in the spare room and my new(ish) 4k tv can finally have a 4k apple tv connected to it. It's an LG smart tv so already has most of the apple tv apps available directly in webOS for amazon prime, netflix, etc, but the webOS versions seem very sluggish and not as well designed by comparison.

Just received notice that my order for the new remote has shipped and will be delivered tomorrow (5/21). In Ohio. I ordered as soon as orders opened.

At best, he imitated Dieter Rams (the highest form of flattery).
