I recently bought a new apple tv.
I used to have the old appletv. The old appletv was connected to my panasonic TV by "van den Hul" expensive flat HDMI cable (hdmi 1.4 standard). That used to work fine.

Today I connected the new apple tv with the "van den Hul" cable to my Panasonic TV and there is completely no signal.
When I connect the new appletv to my Panasonic tv with a cheap HDMI cable everything works well.
Anyone an idea what this could be?

Can you verify that the cable still works at all? Perhaps you can try it back on your original Apple TV to know for sure...if you have the same problem, you know it's the cable that has failed.

If that's not the case, I'd say the new Apple TV and your expensive cable are not transmitting the handshake appropriately.
