hi all

New 4K Apple TV arrived. I am using it with a 65inch LG7series TV that supports Dolby Vision and HDR.

When I did set up the Apple TV asked did I want to test Dolby Vision. I did but got an error message saying the hdmi cable was not compatible with DV. HDR was playing fine and I saw the HDR logo appear on the Tv. So I changed the cable and this time the test said ok and movies played well.

My question is this, if I watch a DV movie what setting should I set the ATV too? And do I then have to set it to 4K HDR manually to get the best out of a non DV but HDR movie?

Thanks

Josh

In my opinion for watching movies:
4K 24HZ DV and 4k 24 HZ HDR.
This manually switching between sweetings is a mess. Hope Apple is going to fix this soon with an automatic framereate switching option.
