The one irritating thing about the common UI is the fact that Netflix shrinks the credits even when you turn off post play in settings. I hate this as I am a older person who grew up watching credits when TV networks use to show them. On other devices I am able to make the credits full screen by selecting them but on the new Apple TV I can't even do that anymore. Remember the old Apple TV honored post play being off in settings and left the credits alone.

I like the credits so leave them alone.

You needn't be an "older person" to want to see full-screen closing credits. They are part of the movie (and, in some cases, an integral part). This either should be a user preference or Netflix should default to showing closing credits and thereby protecting the integrity of the film.

As T5BRICK said, this is a Netflix issue and complaints should be directed to them. I will; you should as well.

Now for any sarcastic millennium saying that I can go on IMDB. I like the credits so leave them alone.
Contact or leave feedback to Netflix. They developed the app.

I wonder with films that have a scene after the credits roll, is it still not full screen? Not sure if Netflix has any of those but I'd be curious

I chatted with Netflix about this:

Netflix Angel
Thanks for contacting Netflix. My Name is Angel, how can I help you today?

You
Hey. I want to give you feedback on the new Apple TV app.
You
Where do I do that?
Netflix Angel
Hey, you're reaching out to the correct person, I will make sure to forward your feedback through the proper channels.

You
Ok. I really hate that the app won't me finish a movie. There is no way to see the end credits in full screen.
You
I have tried to turn of auto play next episodes under settings, but the app still minimizes the playing video at the end.
You
Hate is a strong word, I really dislike.

Thank you for this feedback, and I really appreciate you taking your time to chat with me, you're correct, the Credit screen does minimize on the new UI for the Apple TV, I will make sure to submit this through the proper channels, so we can add an option to turn it off and add the movie suggestions until the end credits or if you decide to skip the credits

You
Thanks!
You
It ruins some films completely.
Netflix Angel
My pleasure, I know where you're coming from, some Films really have some added value from the credits.

You
Bye.
Netflix Angel
In the meantime, you can restore the Credits to full screen by selecting the minimized screen and clicking on it.

You
Nope.
You
Not on the new Apple TV. =(
Netflix Angel
:C

You
I tried that.
Netflix Angel
What?!

You
I can only rate a film.
Netflix Angel
Then I really thank you for taking your time with the feedback, I'll add this notation before I submit it.

Netflix Angel
It has been a pleasure, have a great day, Oh, And one more thing, if you wouldn't mind, please stay online for a one question survey.

I regret buying the new Apple TV. I use Netflix as my primary streamer but the credit shrinking it brutal. I went back to my PS4 and Fire TV to watch Netflix. Yes it still shrinks the credits but at least I can make them full screen again since some movies show extra content at the end.

Also other apps like Watch Disney were perfect on the older Apple TV but on the new one they are way worse with lower quality stream and a annoying "Live" bug that won't go away. Also the app quite often loses full screen view.

I had no idea that there were so many movie credit enthusiasts in existence.

For me, when a good show ends, i like to soak it in. Something about credits rolling with the music just is a perfect way to end a film. Its not a deal breaker for me, but I do find it annoying that there is no option to watch the credits. Also, I work in film so I think people should get the credit they deserve, also, I like to have the option to see who edited, certain actors, etc. who were in the film.

Removed the "sarcastic millennium" comment. Sorry. Did not realize that many young people like the credits too.

Ha! And here I thought I was the only one.

I hate it when people switch channels or hit the stop button right after the movie has ended.
Especially when it was a really good movie. Cause I'm always in some sort of trance and listening to the music, thinking about what I've just seen.

Turning it off straight away kinda ruins it for me

I haven't checked, but what about movies with scenes after the ending credits. Are those scenes also minimized? If so, that's a problem.

Still not fixed in latest update :(
This isn't an Apple TV problem, but a Netflix app problem. This is all on Netflix, it's the same across the board on every single one of their apps across all devices. You would think they would give you an option to turn this off in the app. SO stupid.

I was referring to the update of the Netflix app on TVos which also just happened.

There aren't. If this was a BIG deal, Netflix would have fixed it a long time ago.
There are. You stating something doesn't make it true.

As others have said, it not just about the credits but about being able to have breath to reflect on the programme just watched. It is also about having a choice and being in control.

Netflix don't care, not because their customers' don't but because they have made a strategic decision to pander to a specific clientèle. They used to be a service for movie enthusiasts. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. They are trying to become a mass-market television channel plain and simple.

I now use Plex, Apple rentals and Bluray's more than Netflix. I'm sure I'm not alone.

I DON'T like the way Amazon and Netflix automatically start another episode when watching a series. As to streaming credits, I could care less. However, isn't there a pause button to stop the fast scroll?
