I DON'T like the way Amazon and Netflix automatically start another episode when watching a series.
You can turn that off. With Amazon you have to login and change your account setting. Netflix may also require a login to the web site but not sure. I just changed Amazon. I tend to fall asleep while watching a episode then wake up and find out I have just watch a few more. So really not good for me.

Thanks, I did fine the turnoff for automatic starts on the next episode of a series for Amazon. For those interested in doing so, you have to "dig" down a few pages to find the setting.

I always felt that TV is a great way to fall asleep with a boring show, especially if laying down. That's why I don't have a set in the bedroom. I got tired of waking up at 3 AM to find the TV still on.

The updated Netflix app now lets you make the credits full screen by scrolling left,up and enter.
Good to know, thanks.

Perhaps in the future, Netflix will again cater for us properly and have it uninterrupted and full screen by default, but I doubt it.

BTW, I now have to press 'down' 32 times to go to my list! Genres (including proper categories for Television not just Films) is a must. I don't hold out much hope for this either.

I sincerely cannot believe this hasn't been fixed after multiple updates. In addition to the forever missing genre categories, I'm borderline on canceling my Netflix subscription.

I'm going to try going back to my Apple TV 2 and using that simply for watching Netflix. I really shouldn't have to do such a thing when I own the latest Apple TV.

I've gone from being a huge Netflix fan and advocate for the last 6 years to a feeling of hate whenever I use the app now. I no longer recommend friends to get Netflix. :(

I just contacted Netflix to give my feedback about this, and I recommend that if it still bothers you, you do the same. (And if it doesn't bother you: Awesome! There should still be an option to turn it off.)

Longwinded sidenote:
I actually contacted Netflix by phone to offer the suggestion, and the Netflix rep told me that "actually, Apple creates the app. Netflix doesn't create the app, but every hardware maker creates their own Netflix app in-house, like on a Sony smart-TV, Sony makes their Netflix app." -- This is obviously wrong! But he insisted this was the case and that I should contact Apple to give this suggestion. I told him that this issue still exists on the Netflix website and across all other apps I've used, so he did write down this feedback for the Netflix website team.
I did call the Apple support line that Netflix guy relayed to me. Apple guy's response to this idea that Apple makes the Netflix app was basically, "lol. no. that's not true." But he said they do communicate with some of the content providers, like Netflix, and he could still send this feedback along. (He also agreed that this is an annoying problem and they need to fix it.)

Sor -- yeah. If you want the option to turn this feature off, send your feedback to Netflix. And if they try to tell you "Netflix doesn't make the Netflix app," politely roll your eyes at them and make sure they write down your suggestion.
They absolutely need to give the option to turn this off, either through each Netflix app, or in the settings on their website the same way you can turn of automatically playing the next episode of a TV series.
