Apple and Oprah have established a multi-year multi-project deal, and the latest TV show to come out of that agreement is "The Oprah Conversation," which is set to premiere on July 30.

"The Oprah Conversation," which is being filmed remotely during the ongoing public health crisis, will feature interviews with the "foremost newsmakers, thought leaders, and masters of their craft."

In the first episode, titled "How to Be an Antiracist," Oprah will interview professor and author Ibram X. Kendi, who is the director of the Center for Antiracist Research at Boston University.

The second episode will feature a two-past interview with athlete and activist Emmanuel Acho, and another future episode will include an interview with Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson, the inspiration for the film "Just Mercy."

Oprah has already teamed up with Apple for several projects including Oprah's Book Club, "Oprah Talks COVID-19," and "Dear..." which stars Oprah in one of the episodes.

The first episode of "The Oprah Conversation" will launch on Thursday, July 30 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

I'm looking forward to these conversations that will undoubtedly tackle, and make people think about, serious global issues. While Apple TV+ is thoroughly entertaining - we've never needed deep, intelligent, and insightful conversations with a respected figurehead than we do today.

Amen to that. I'm especially looking forward to the episode with Bryan Stevenson.

Who wants this? Oh, MR posters

Well, 3-4 of them. And that’s fine. If Apple wants to continually throw millions at this “project” to placate its most fiercest fanboys, that’s up to them.

I’ve still yet to see anything that will get me to pay for it once the year is up. I enjoyed Mythic Quest, but that’s not enough to get me to pay for a sub.

Guess you should call him comrade figurehead.

“Capitalism is essentially racist,” Kendi proclaims, and “racism is essentially capitalist.”

Perfect content for this totally 'woke' company.
At least, that's how they want you to see them.

Black people, homosexuals, transgenders and all the other minorities out there - you're all being played, used as nothing more than a marketing tool to sell more product. Do you honestly think these companies care about you?

Sticking John Lewis on the Apple homepage is to create the illusion that Apple is in your corner. They're not. They're in the shareholders corner.

And I certainly don't need some wealthy celebrity to start 'a conversation' (lol) to tell me that racism and discrimination are wrong. Who the hell are these self-righteous people?

Maybe one day, we'll get an Apple TV+ documentary on the plight of Chinese workers assembling smartphones for pittance or perhaps the children (as young as seven) that die each year helping to mine for cobalt iron in the DRC

Yeah, maybe we'll have 'a conversation' about that too.

Same here, but frankly, I'm bored with hearing from celebrities and figure heads who will only say the things their PR agencies recommend them say. I more interested in the common man and woman, the people who are the "boots on the ground" when it comes to the things celebrities pay for.

Rich people are okay, but they tend to live life one way, and tell the rest of us to live it differently.

Where are the REAL people?

Bryan Stevenson isn't a real person? And has a PR agency recommending what he says? Do you know anything about the man?

Oprah once said that Group W and WJZ TV was an "Old Boys Network", but they also gave her the first TV show she ever had, which was noticed in syndication even though it wasn't very widely seen. Her entire career was started here. See here...

Those Group W studios in Baltimore were not exactly Donahue quality, but still she was noticed by the industry. This is why i don't believe in systemic racism. She was noticed as an obvious talent and went on to much greater success. Oprah is proof of the American Dream if anything. A positive story. But I'm sure her "Conversation" will say something else.

So you failed to understand the series is not about Oprah, but rather her guests being interviewed, Bryan Stevenson being one of them?

"The Oprah Conversation," which is being filmed remotely during the ongoing public health crisis, will feature interviews with the "foremost newsmakers, thought leaders, and masters of their craft."

Plenty of room for anyone with a brain to infer that celebrities would be a part of this. Also, I doubt Oprah is just going to be quiet and not add to the ... um ... conversation.

Lastly, I'm sure Stevenson has a PR agent.

Can you stop pretending to act like I'm attacking him? You're making something out of nothing for apparently no reason other than to feign a higher moral ground.

Just stop.

do they care about you when they feature straight white men? i don't mind getting pandered to. i want to be pandered to just like everyone else gets pandered.

Nice sideways insult. Speaks volumes.

And of course Oprah is going to be part of the conversation being the interviewer. And no, Bryan Stevenson doesn't need a PR agent to advise him on what to say. You may not know much about him.

No insult there. Reread post carefully.

Which is what I originally said. It was literally the MAIN point of my original post.

And no, Bryan Stevenson doesn't need a PR agent to advise him on what to say.

Yah for him?

You may not know much about him.

So what? You seem really hung up on him even though no one ever mentioned his name.
