No insult there. Reread post carefully.

Which is what I originally said. It was literally the MAIN point of my original post.

Yah for him?

So what? You seem really hung up on him even though no one ever mentioned his name.
if you think saying "anyone with a brain" is not an insult you're just trolling. Person disagrees with your assessment. You came back with a reassertion of your assessment and added "anyone with a brain". Meaning if you don't agree with me you don't have a brain.
Its 2020. People need to resist the urge to click on topics they already know they don't like just to tell people they don't like it. How much energy are you expending on something you don't like. Its not like Oprah is an unknown quantity.

do they care about you when they feature straight white men? i don't mind getting pandered to. i want to be pandered to just like everyone else gets pandered.

I wouldn't want to be pandered to by anyone that was using my predicament to sell a product.

The difference is that you're not being pandered to. You're being specifically targeted.

The plight of marginalised sections of society is being exploited to create more wealth for people so that they can further distance themselves from those they identify as inferior.

Never was a fan of Oprah, but will watch this for the interviews with Dr. Ibram and Stevenson. Kendi's book "Stamped From the Beginning" was a brilliant read. And Stevenson's work over the decades has been inspiring; as was "Just Mercy" which was a recommendation by a Civil Rights Movement veteran. I haven't watched the movie version with Michael B. Jordan yet.

He’s one of the interviewees, who you’ve been collectively calling celebrities. The show is about hearing from the interviewees, not from Oprah. Since you don’t know about Stevenson, that explains why you think he’s a celebrity and needs a spokesperson. Take some time and learn a little about him.

Stevenson is the real deal. And the recent movie about his work is outstanding. Looking forward to his interview.

Will there be an episode about how she procured women for Harvey Weinstein?

I'm looking forward to these conversations that will undoubtedly tackle, and make people think about, serious global issues. While Apple TV+ is thoroughly entertaining - we've never needed deep, intelligent, and insightful conversations with a respected figurehead than we do today.
Too bad she can't confer with John of God

I actually know quite a bit about him. (I’d bet more than you actually) and never did I once say he was a celebrity.

Again, your problem is your inference.

I said I’d rather hear from everyday people, not celebrities, and you jumped to the conclusion that I think he’s a celebrity. Never once did I say that. The show will no doubt have more than two people on it, and yes Oprah will open her mouth. Nothing against her, but it’s common for her to have celebrities on her shows and make off base comments.

Calm down. Move on.

So is calling someone a troll who added an honest opinion to the discussion. Now you’re derailing the thread even further.

Person disagrees with your assessment. You came back with a reassertion of your assessment and added "anyone with a brain". Meaning if you don't agree with me you don't have a brain.

Not at all actually. Reread the post, put it into context please. Stop cherry-picking.

Moot, and you‘re making the same assertion I made in my OP. The sad truth is that it’s 2020 and still on MR’s PRSI forums people will make the wrong assessment about a poster simply because they don’t agree with their OPINION.

Well, 3-4 of them. And that’s fine. If Apple wants to continually throw millions at this “project” to placate its most fiercest fanboys, that’s up to them.

I’ve still yet to see anything that will get me to pay for it once the year is up. I enjoyed Mythic Quest, but that’s not enough to get me to pay for a sub.
If I see "greyhound" trailer again I am going to cry. Most unoriginal original content ever!

I'm not really a fan of Oprah but I'd be blind if I didn't acknowledge how massive Oprah is for tv+. She has the world's largest and most dedicated TV audience. Wherever she goes, her shows become instant hits. Even if I'm not watching Oprah's shows, I welcome her on the platform because she'll be elevating the success of tv+ which in turn makes the shows that I do watch, possible.

Your first response to my claiming you know little about Stevenson:
"So what?"

And then later:
I actually know quite a bit about him. (I’d bet more than you actually)

You're dancing all over the place. This just being the most recent. Same thing with your juvenile insult, as another pointed out. And the then flip-flopping about celebrities. Try not to be so adverse to taking some responsibility.

That right there is plain disgusting. The look on her face tells it all. She is proud and happy to hand the new "gift" to her predator buddy Weinstein. I'm so sick of seeing this woman being always featured on the spotlight of tv shows and news as if she is the best thing that happened to us.

Sorry mate but why do we have to put up with her bs to have decent programming on Apple TV. If the people responsible for the programming did a better job it would stand on its own feet without help from all these disgusting celebs that Tim loves a much.

Just remember, the answer to any of Oprah's "How to be..." questions is:
1. Be a billionaire.
Alternatively, take huge monetary contracts for little to no effort.

Again, your off base deduction skills are unmatched. Please, please PLEASE just read the things I post instead of making things up based on your need to pretend to be morally superior.

You've added even less than the Oprah haters, are making things up, and can't even address the comments I've made without pulling in things from fantasy land.

Stick to your own claims or address the ones I've mentioned.

Sad.

Oh, I forgot to mention that if you had an IMDBPro account, or actually KNEW the guy, you could get in touch with Stevenson's PR agency. Next time you're in Baltimore stop by the ACLU of Maryland and I'll be happy to finish the rest of this insane conversation in person.

Maybe you'll learn a thing or two.

Apple isn’t building a streaming service exclusively for you, or for me or for any one taste. Millions of people love Oprah. I’m not one of them and neither are you, but having her on the platform will bring those millions of fans with her, growing the user base and ensuring that the service grows.

Apple can and has made fantastic tv shows all on its own. But they’re no use if only a select niche of people are watching them. The more subscribers of all kinds are watching tv, the more it grows for everyone.

I have trouble going to Oprah for advice about COVID given her history of supporting snake oil salesmen ("Dr." Phil, Dr. Oz, etc.) and pseudoscience.

You rang?

It's funny I was just saying in another thread that it will be the power of Oprah binge watching that will power TV+ to the top.The very next day this is announced. This is exciting and disturbing at the same time.
