Hey guys yesterday I purchased a 42mm stainless steel Apple watch with Milanese band as the price of the watch in the UK has dropped down to £479 in the UK from various retailers.

I have owned a 42mm sport since launch and have been really impressed with the battery life, paired the new watch last night & set it up etc.

It was fully charged this morning when I left for work, by 4.00 this afternoon the battery was down to 16%, really surprised how quickly it went down, my Sport would be at around 65% at that time of day.

I did have the heart rate monitor switched on, so that's switched off now, I did not have any more notifications come through than I normally do. Not been playing around with the watch either.

Any ideas if the battery life will improve after a few charges?

Running 2.2 on the watch and it was set up as a new watch and not restored from a backup, love the look & weight of the watch paired with a saddle brown classic buckle.

Thanks all :)

Restart and check again tomorrow. If it repeats you may have a problem. In all likelihood a restart will cure it.

Also you said you had the HR on. Did you have Workout running? Did you see the green running man at the top of the screen?

Thanks for the info, I turned off heart rate in the privacy settings within the iPhone app itself.

Workout was not running at all.

Many thanks

I had exactly the same thing after one of the watch OS updates. Never found out for certain why but it only happened once. I suspected that there is still a lot of background synching going on when there is a new set-up. I got a second watch today and I cloned it from a back-up of my orginal. When I look at the apps a lot were missing. Looked in the watch app on the phone and a lot of them said "Syncing".

I'd give it a few days charging it nightly.

Another "fix" that seemed to work was Unpair and Re-Pair when there was a lot of this going on after one of the Watch 1.x updates.

ETA
Just looked at the Apps screen on the new watch and most apps are there now but many are still "Grayed" out so it is still syncing stuff to the watch in the background. I've used 20% of the battery in just over an hour and a half. I bet it's fine by tomorrow.

Its just dropped from 72% to 68% in the last 90 minutes, just restarted it so I will see what happens.

Many thanks

Down to 62% now back on track.

Wish I had picked up the stainless steel 42mm at launch lovely watch :) but at least I got £120 off the watch when I bought it yesterday, still not sure about the Milanese loop but its there as a more dressy type band if I need it.

I will be keeping my trusty 42mm sport though.

My wife was feeling left out so we went to Apple today and got her a Rose Gold Sport with Ivory SB. Just got home and this is the first time we've ever bought an Apple battery powered device that when we got it home was completely dead. It is now charging and has come to life and begun pairing.

The one that was shipped to me today had 77% or something when I turned it on.

With Apple pricing I'm surprised 'Battery charge' is not a billable option since power would be from their extensive green solar farms.
Green? - seen all the heavy plastic and paper shipped with the watch, really.. Just ranting, really glad people are getting new gizmos.

Occasionally I will have a day where the battery drains like crazy. 50% in a few hours. Typically I have 40% left after a 16 hour day. I just do a hard reset and the battery goes back to normal.

The stainless steel was like that too, but not my Sport
[doublepost=1458904141][/doublepost]Thanks for the help guys the watch battery has only drooped from 100% to 96% since 8.30 this morning (its now 11.15 here), seems like the restart has fixed it :)
