After I got my Apple Watch, I was disappointed in the number of cool pick-up 2 minute games for it .... so I made one :). It's called Auto Dodge, inspired by an old arcade game

It runs lovely and smooth on the watch, and has Gamecenter high scores too.

Inspired by RallyX of course :) Looks very good, bought. I'll post impression later today when I get to play it. I'm surprised there aren't more small games like this made for the watch now that Spritekit is available for it.

Thanks. I did indeed use Spritekit. The whole App comes out at 1.3Mb ! Apple make this pretty easy now, so I just can't explain why noone else is developing cool stuff for Apple watch

Cool little game. I think you spriteKit story actually explains very well why apple watch is being neglected by developers. The API's, hardware access and "manouvre room" for app's really only came with watchOS3, and at then all the intial interrest and developerfocus had died out long ago.

So the watch probably needs to be a MAJOR sales succes with publicly revealed sales numbers from apple before dev's will start to look into it again.

I've played it just now - it's a nice little game, and I'm having fun with it. Racecars are tiny, but still discernible - you don't need an eagle vision to play it. I was dying a lot at first before I figured out that I'm supposed to swipe the direction way in advance. If you know how to play PacMan well, you know that you can point the direction way in advance, before the corner, and it's the same thing here - it's a key to successful play, as you won't have time, or consistency in changing lanes if you wait until the last moment to change it. It's also the only way to make a double lane change. Once I got the hand of it, the controls work really well, and very reliably. Also, it runs at unflinching 60FPS - very smooth.

Glad you are enjoying it ! I am hoping for a few more players to challenge for high scores ! I think the Apple watch is maxed out at 30fps, but I made the game to be as super smooth as I could, so thanks for noticing :)

thanks :) I agree, Apple need to pay a bit more attention to the Watch Appstore and sharing some numbers to attract more developers ....
