Apple today shared an all-new commercial focusing on the Apple Watch Series 2, in which the company encourages its users to "live bright" with the help of various features that its wearable provides. These include the new water resistance of Apple Watch Series 2, activity tracking, and the meditation reminders of Breathe.

The new spot aligns with Apple's recent pivoting of the Apple Watch from a fashion accessory to a health and fitness tool. The ad also features the Beyoncé song "Freedom."

Yesterday Apple shared another collection of Twitter-based iPad Pro commercials, in which the company references real Tweets complaining about technology to highlight various features of the iPad. The newest ads focused on the light weight of the iPad, the advantages it brings to students in school, and its all-day battery life.

Gotta be honest, I don't understand the constant front page articles about new advertising. We come to this forum for apple news, rumors, and discussion, not to provide free advertising for the company. I get it if a certain ad is notable and generating actual headlines (the 1984 ad would have certainly qualified) but this is getting a *little* ridiculous, no?

Oh My God I couldn't agree more!..

LOL this site is an interactive apple ad. The constant complaining followed by "xx" in the past would have done it better/different not allowed it is getting a *little* ridiculous, no?

great commercial - if i was a misinformed shopper i'd buy an apple watch for working out.

But we all know there are far more accurate GPS options with longer battery life and tracking of sports metrics - Garmin, SUUNTO, Polar, etc.

Sorry, there's been no "pivot" from a fashion accessory to a fitness product. Instead, what Apple has done is blend the two. That's the secret sauce of how Apple has taken over the smart watch market because with Apple you don't have to choose between an ugly, but capable Fitbit, and having something that can be a great fashion accessory. Just go to Apple's website and open the Watch section, and you'll see that both are important, but fashion is arguably more important selling point than fitness because marketing folks will tell you that fashion sells and Apple is likely making more money on the multiple bands people buy to accessorize their watches, than the watches themselves.

Now that's a slick commercial...much more Apple than those cheesy iPad spots they are running.

I workout almost daily. Variety of strength training, running, cycling and swimming. I've used my Apple Watch through multiple long distance runs and triathlons.

The Apple Watch is an excellent option that will only get better. Eventually all these dedicated fitness watches will go the way of standalone GPS devices.

I remember when Apple ads used to be about........wait for it..............................computers.

I mean, technically the Watch is a computer. And when you think about the internals and what they've managed to build in terms of an actual computer in that tiny device, it's pretty remarkable.

i dont believe you.

what's your strava account?

im hard pressed to believe you'd finish any triathlon with the apple watch let alone any app that offers tri mode (swim bike run) with transition times.

ive done 1/2 ironmans and ironmans - PM me

I don't use Strava. I used TrainingPeaks for a few years along with multiple Garmin and TomTom watches.

I get it - These watches have been around for a long time and are dedicated to these sports. They've improved quite nicely recently, but let's be honest, using one of them compared to the quality and software on an Apple Watch is slowly making them feel archaic. And I really don't think any of them will be able to keep up with what Apple can do with SoCs and hardware. My hope is that Apple continues to make the hardware accessible to developers and that TomTom, Garmin, Suunto, etc make some very nice apps for the Apple Watch.

Last year I used the original Apple Watch for 3 triathlons (Series 2 wasn't out yet). Used it to log each part of the tri individually. Right now I've been training, but as we get closer to tri season I'm going to look for and test out some multisport apps.

Some false advertising by apple. All the commercials act like the watch has an always on display.
For example toward the end the activity ring lights up by itself...

It's not like this site has an enormous amount of articles going around anyway. Why not? I certainly find it interesting as I never see any Apple ads except for here.
