Plugged the new out-of-the box fast charger in to my regular hub last night and woke up to find it had not charged my watch. Old charger charges, but new one will not. Anyone else?

Did/do you hear the chargning confirmation "ding" sound effect when you attached the charger and see the charging animation?

I didn’t, but it always has done so in the past and I wasn’t paying attention. Now I will.

Did you put it on the white side of it? Only asking because dumb me was confused as to whether I was supposed to lay it on the gray or white side.

I did! The side with the little indentation to fit the back of the watch.

That doesn’t really make sense. It is possible that the charger cord that came with the watch is defective. Do you have any of the earlier charger cords that you could use to make sure that the problem is not with the watch?

I can charge it from any of the older cables. I need to check my USB C charging blocks to see if it will work with one of them. And I agree - makes no sense, unless it’s defective.

Try another USB-C brick that’s at least 20w first. Just to make sure.

Anything higher that has PD should work. Apple says their 18W adapter works. I think I've had problems charging from hubs in the distant past. Possibly there's something about the new charger puck that doesn't work with charging through a hub. Perhaps the hub doesn't supply some minimum volt or amp level that the charger needs? - don't know (obviously!).

I have had no problems charging my S7 for over two weeks. Today, however, I needed to use the fast charger and after being plugged in around 1.5 hours, the iP reading was still red and almost no boost in percentage.
This is the original cable and charger out of the S7 box. The 20W adapter is original Apple and never used previously. I even went to another Apple 20W adapter for the last 30 minutes or so and still the same result.
If this is the only thread here about this issue then apparently no one is having a problem with fast charging, right?

The S7 (at least the aluminum models) come with a USB-C puck/charging cable. They don't come with any adapter. Not sure if the fancier ones (Stainless or Titanium) ones do. I am using the USB-C adapter that came with my iPad mini 6 and until last night it worked perfectly. I had to do a hard reset of the Series 7 Watch to get it to charge properly. I usually leave the Watch in Nightstand Mode and had to lay it flat after doing the hard reset to get it to charge properly. We shall see tonight.
BTW - there is another thread here about charging issues since the last Apple Watch update.

With no initial response in this thread, I moved to the other thread centered on 8.1
Since my post that you quoted, I have seen mixed results so I need to do more testing to perhaps see if an electrical outlet can be a factor in fast charging.
