This is the first time I'll ever have AT&T and I have a couple of questions.. Well, mostly just one.. Is there any way they can charge roaming fees on data if you're staying in the U.S.? Are there any settings to turn on to avoid getting any fees?

Thanks!

Oh yea, I might as well mention it in this thread.. I'm just moving to AT&T from Sprint so if anyone wants to do that referral thing with me, feel free to go ahead and tell me how it works/what information I have to give you.

there are no roaming fees in the US.

You can turn off Data Roaming in the settings on the iPhone if you're really paranoid.

Actually you can get data roaming fees, if you're unlucky and here is how.... I live in the Detroit area. If I happen to be in downtown and near the RenCen or Hart Plaza or somewhere near the river, guess what's across the river...? Windsor... Canada. I've seen other people that were in those areas where somehow they were getting a signal from a tower in Windsor and got charged roaming fees - not with iPhones though.

Best thing to do - Settings > General > Network and make sure Data Roaming is turned off and you won't have any issues.
