Hello,

My mid-2009 MBP battery is shot.

It's been through 1022 cycles, is on 68% health and I've got a warning when I click on the battery in the menu bar:

I'm currently saving up for a rMBP, and will be making the purchase when the new updated models come out next year (I won't have enough money for one until about June next year, by which time it will be worth waiting for a refresh).

Should I buy a new battery for my current MBP, or just wait until I buy a rMBP? I don't mind using my current MBP plugged in all the time (which is how I use it now), but I'm just worried about it damaging the internals somehow!

You just cant damage internals with the battery, if you dont mind, keep it plugged in all the time until you get a new rMBP.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Just wanted to double check it wasn't going to damage anything 🙂
