This isn't the only use case for this. They're great to carry around the house, outside, pool side, gatherings, all kinds of stuff. Travel, hotel rooms, white noise at night, tons of use.
My buddy would strap one of these to his bike when he would ride around. He loved it but something happened to it (maybe the battery died like yours did?)

Show me where the Lanyard edition is actually targeting "on the move". Hell, show me that the speaker is even on in the photos where it's being "shown off" by celebrities. Nobody mentions anything about what they were listening to, only that they were seen holding one.

On the move/on the go/moving about = can also mean not permanently placed. In the morning, I'm on the move, I bring my pill into the bathroom while I'm getting ready in there and then I move to the kitchen and I bring it with me. Why should I wear AirPods while I'm in my home while I'm on the move?

While I have encountered what you described by people on iPhones and Tablets, I have yet to encounter others behaving that way with BT speakers however you assume the worst primary use case just because now it has a lanyard? Seems like manufactured outrage/snark to me.
Wow, that was one long assuming post. The irony lol. 😂

And why would you need a lanyard for any of your use cases? 🤷🏼‍♂️
It’s obvious what the lanyard is targeted for as seen by all the Apple marketing material.
“It’s a device for portable music shown that way, but trust me they’re not turned on in the marketing material bro” 🤦🏼‍♂️

Marketing, Influencers and sheep. We have surely reached the end of the line as a species. The giant meteor can't get here soon enough as far as i'm concerned.

This is such a bizarre take. A portable speaker having a feature which makes it easier to carry does not equate to “play music in public while walking around” in anyway.

The Return of the Ghetto Blaster! Do the Right Thing and include a (Beats-branded) Radio Flyer wagon to carry it.

I found a place selling batteries called Joe's Gaming & Electronics for $49 but they're out of stock. There's a video showing teardown on YouTube and it looks doable.

I also found that there's official battery replacement for $79 on the beats support website. https://support.apple.com/beats/repair

Nice find, well done. The member who asked has asked the same thing before, cannot believe he never checked with Apple, seems an obvious place to start.

So these are still bluetooth, right? Meaning any audio that comes through the phone plays on the speaker? I want a portable Airplay speaker that will just play music and not phone audio or another. Basically, give me a portable, battery-powered HomePod.

Wow! I had no idea that really amazing rich people like Kim Kardashian and some sports stars love it as well as LeBron. It's time to increase the credit limit on my tenth credit card so I can get it as soon as it comes out. Maybe people will think I am as cool and wealthy as they are too? Buying it will make me so happy. I deserve it!

Thought it would have been released by now. Expecting it to be launched soon
