Beats allows Apple to sell "AirPods" to consumer demographics that either can't or won't spend the higher-end prices that AirPods are sold at, all while maintaining the premium and Apple-exclusive status of the AirPods brand.

Beats is basically "AirPods SE" -Budget-friendly, lower-quality and partly outdated hardware, repackaged to appear exciting and luxurious, paired with decent smartphone OS integration and a sparse selection of features that are usually only found in actual AirPods.

Scrutinizing the actual hardware, Beats are typically very low value/$ for the consumer, yes. But they still sells in big numbers because of low end-consumer prices, generating high profit margins for Apple.

Killing off products that sell as well as Beats do would be a mistake unless you hate profits.
If this intended as a low cost, why is it prompted through celebrities? Isn’t that contradicting?

One of the biggest misses from Apple has been the lack of Airplay 2 speakers/surround systems from Beats. I understand as main products they don’t want to make too many products, but it seems ridiculous that they have a speaker company which makes zero Airplay 2 speakers.

Paying $3 billion for Beats has been Tim Cook's third-best business decision so far, only bested by Project Titanic and GIT Sapphire Technologies. Here's looking to the future.
Considering that they acquired the tech/contracts for the Apple Music streaming service PLUS the still profitable Beats hardware line, both having provided an ROI of well OVER 3 billion… you’re right, it was a good deal!

Ok, when does this release?!?

I’m starting to think this is going to be the WWDC Super-Secret-Hardware-Headliner.

M4 Pro chip with insane AI Enhancements.

$699 per speaker, minimum 2 speakers in a stereo pair to use them.

Pool parties and backyard barbecues just went to a whole new level with the power of AI.

But for real, for those of us waiting, when does this release?
