I picked up my black Magic Keyboard with Touch ID today. Previously I had the old black full keyboard. Although it is nice to have Touch ID now, I still like the color of the old one which is darker.

do have any problem with the black color comes off here and there for your old one?

For me the new one is way nicer, the old one was an aesthetic disaster — as are most things in the “space grey” to matte black range. In fact, calling it “new“ is weird, since the aluminum and black combo has been in Apple’s design palette way longer than the horrible space gray

I have the old black one. I really didn’t want to buy a new keyboard but I have a new 14” MBP M1 Max and wanted to run it in clamshell mode without typing my password all the time. I bought the new black/silver keyboard and think it looks better. I’ll probably clean my old one and sell it.

I like the space gray version. I see crazy optical illusions with circular dots appearing and blinking on the silver + black keys it's trippy. o_O Monochrome Disco all up in here?

@crisss1205 Are you noting any difference in key travel / overall feel on the new one vs. the old space grey one? I have the same space grey / black key edition and considering the new one, but since I got my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro I dislike the external keyboard the more I use the Macbook Pro keyboard.

Having a space grey Macbook Pro and other accessories in space grey to match, I'm also struggling with the silver color, so if the key travel is not any different, then I may just wait and see if they come out with a space grey edition or improved keys later on.

I just got mine the other day as well and wish it was space grey instead of silver. But it’s very nice and I‘m typing on it now. Has anyone been able to use the TOUCH ID part yet? Is it not possible to use with the iPad Air 4th Gen?

Touch ID is a nice feature to have but I retuned mine because I can't get used to a keyboard that doesn't have back lighting. So I'm keeping my Logi MX Keys until Apple releases a full size keyboard with back lighting.

Same here, I loved the old one, but this one has sharper contrast between the silver and black and I like it too.
