The mindset is different there. [...] It’s not about work life balance or enjoyment.
Please let's stop sugar coating the fact that manufacturing "our" beloved gadgets means in part that a legion of badly payed workers has to be doing inhumane and utterly boring jobs. No one should have to do this kind of work which should be done by robots if you asked me. In fact, why isn't it?

Assembly line manufacturing of anything, electronics, cars, cookies, etc, is mind numbingly boring for everyone. That's called a manufacturing job. They're all boring and become grueling when done month after month. Always have been around the world. USA too.

This is what I was thinking. A phone with front and back glass would only have a metal frame around the middle, and these look like a full rear shell. Maybe iPhone 7s?

I thought 7S but the camera is vertical.

Less than one month before Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone lineup, two videos have surfaced that may show the so-called iPhone 8 passing through the production line at a factory presumably located in China.

The videos surfaced on Chinese microblogging service Weibo earlier today, and were later uploaded to YouTube by Dutch blog TechTastic.

Both videos are short and blurry, so it's hard to make out exactly what is being shown. The production line could simply be for the multitude of iPhone 8 dummy models that have surfaced over the past few months.

Apple's contract manufacturers like Foxconn have strict security measures in place to prevent employees from bringing smartphones inside factories, so the videos could very well be completely unrelated to real iPhone 8 production.

In the first clip, factory workers appear to be polishing or cleaning the rear shell of what could be the iPhone 8. At the very least, the device appears to have a vertically-aligned camera, one of the smartphone's frequently rumored features.

In the second clip, just eight seconds long, dozens of potential iPhone 8 devices appear to be affixed to some kind of metal shelving rack.

Given the lack of real iPhone 8 part leaks, we're still stuck firmly in iPhone silly season--including infamously low-quality videos.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will begin production verification tests for the iPhone 8 in late August, followed by mass production in mid-September, so higher-quality leaks could be on the horizon.

Has Apple given up on trying to keep the iPhone a secret? Obviously they have tight security still but have they conceded that the tiny leaks are a good thing and it's not worth trying to tighten security more or is this just a case of it's impossible to mass produce these phones without leaks.

I always wondered how these products would come dust and finger print free. Pretty cool but man i feel bad for the workers, that job kinda sucks.

I will not get the iPhone 8 because it have problem with the camera, fingerprints problem, now they put back iPhone 8 of new home button, flashlight problem, & Touch ID. Which I can get iPhone 7 Plus Red, iPhone 7 Red, iPhone 6s Plus Rose Gold, iPhone 6s Rose Gold, iPhone SE Rose Gold, iPhone SE Black, iPhone 4s White, & iPhone 4s Black with Biggest storage. One with Carrier Verzion on iPhone 7 Plus Red & all without carriers on iPhone 7, 6s Plus, 6s, SE, & 4s. Which It better the iPhone 7 Plus, 7, 6s Plus, 6s, 6 Plus, 6, SE, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, & 4, than the iPhone 8.

At this point with all the leaks, rumors, the icon hidden in software code, I'm going to say this is what it will eventually look like. (Still have no idea if 1, 3 models come out..I don't know?)

But IF...still an "IF" ...this is the case, the black looks beautiful. That's the one I want. Especially if it's all black on the front hiding that "notch." (The other 2 models, Blush Gold..different but with the possible white front outline..eh, it takes away so much from the screen, design. Just my opinion on that.

I suspect Jet Back, Mate...whatever this will be the big seller again. The screencap is Described as "Jet Black," but with the glass casing on the back protecting that black gloss just a bit. I want it, its times for my upgrade..but honestly I'm really not looking forward to pre-sale morning (3am on my end)

Whatever final models are introduced in a few weeks, I only hope Apple gets the servers right to handle the massive MASSIVE traffic that site will experience -most likely- about a month from now. There will many lucky people landing the phone...I fear many more won't - or land a pre-order and will be waiting until late Nov, Dec, heck..early Jan for their phones.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. I came from a country like that. What I said was real life experience, not something you read in a book where everyone should be happy and go on vacation whenever they want or work whenever they want. This is not sugar coating. These jobs are pretty good jobs compared to other jobs over there.

Robots? Do you know the actual cost of maintaining an army of robots? Human labor is always cheaper.

That may be right and I'm not denying that, since you're right - I don't know what it's like having to do those kind of jobs. I'm still saying that no one should be having to do any of these jobs and that every society should discuss what alternatives there can be to forcing a massive number of people into boring unfulfilling jobs while the top 1% capitalises on these grievances.
