New boot-up sequence?

In Mavericks, I believe the boot-up sequence would be: press on button>load>type in password>enter desktop

In Yosemite it seems to be button>type in password>load>enter desktop.

Is it just me or is this different?
 
That sounds like you turned on FileVault.

Without it, you don't have to enter the password before the loading sequence.
