I have a Nano but I also have a real cheap MP3 player which I use when I go boarding.

Screw controls just let the thing play and not worry about it. Nothing better than carving down a mtn to some sweet tunes. Love it.

So badass that it has speakers so you dont need to wear headphones that sort of get in the way and make your ears feel funny when you take them off. I wouldnt care about being able to control it just the speakers alone is the best part i think.

The MP3 location is in a weird enough spot that you shouldnt really break it on anything. How do you break something on the front of your forearm.

if you think this is a novelty item you are wrong. its an expensive item true. but to be able to store your ipod warmly deep inside your layers w/o ever having to take your gloves off to change song and risk getting it wet is SO cool! the speakers are a neat feature too!

the best part is switching between phone and ipod that way if someone calls you you dont have to struggle, miss and redial the phone call. of course you're not going to be changing music while youre flying down the mountain at 20 mph but i like to keep my gloves on at all times, and the forearm pad is nice to do on the lift or inline.

also burton has been making a jacket similar to this since the 2G ipod

...or dropping your phone off the chairlift when trying to answer with your gloves on. No it didn't happen to me - but it almost did

I've always quite liked these jackets. They are, however, very much out of my price range, especially since I already bought new boots, a new jacket, and new pants for this season. I have rocked my iPod a few times while boarding, enclosed in a hard cased, and having the case wrapped in bubble tape :), but the cold was always my biggest concern. Falls aren't something I am worried about (the only time I am gonna fall is if I land a jump wrong, and the amont of padding would no doubt protect my precious), but I do worry about the cold. That's why I don't bring my iPod snowboarding anymore- I now use my shuffle only for the gym and snowboarding, and my iPod for everything else :)

Also,

"The AUDEX jacket is not intended for sale in France and the United Kingdom"...

does not apply to me (thankfully) but why would they exclude these two countries?

Because they know we are too sensible to buy it!

It's using the "Dock Connector." So my reply is, "Yes it will work." :)

Where did you read this?

I looked at the ipod jacket today (not the audex) and it uses the old remote style attachment on the headphone socket so deffo wont work with the 5g vid ipods

do you know different? is the adaptor changeable?

Just joined the forums to give you guys this site. This will allow the Video and Nano to hook up to the old interface so you can use the iPod Shield jacket with you Nano etc. Cheers
