Anyone have a clue what the next capacities are gonna be for the 3rd gen itouch. My ipod broke yesterday, and I want to get a new one, but I also want the itouch for palm style capabilities. The problem is the 2nd gen Itouch's HDD is miniscual. I have 40 gigs of music, adn another 50 gigs of movies, I want them all on one device. If they could take an ipod classic, and and itouch and duck tape them together with the itouch using the ipods hdd, I would be happy. I dont care if the device is bulkier for more hdd capacity. Anyway I am waiting and hoping they will drastically increase the itouchs hdd, or merge the two products. Otherwise I will keep using my treo, adn get a new ipod. Also anyone know of any date hints. I am curious to see the next gens.

They'll update capacities before they get to the third generation.

16, 32, 64.

Third gen could very well have 32, 64, 128, but don't bet on it.

Don't hold your breath they just release the 2nd Gen Itouch.

They won't release 3 G until they figure out some new bells and whistles.

Your going to have to wait for a couple of memory upgrades. The next upgrade is 64GB and that still won't be enough to hold all your library. They won't add a HDD, they will keep flash memory to help keep the thin profile.

I doubt we would ever see a HD based touch.

My guess is that the iPod touch line will remain flash based.
