Seidio Vs. Agent 18

I'm getting one of these today, but haven't decided which one yet.

My main concern is not the scratching of the bezel (I don't think this can be helped) but of the scratching/chipping of the back case; the aluminum portion. I had the Belkin Acrylic case, and it chipped away the back casing on my first iPhone.

I've got the InCase rubber right now and it's fine other than it's stretched out to hell.

Anyone have any "chipping" problems with either Seidio or Agent 18?

Im not having problems with Agent 18. That is why i bought it to begin with so it doesnt damage or scratch the phone. I put it on as soon as I took my third iphone out of the box. had some battey issues with previous ones. It has sctrached it at all

Is there any play/movement in this case? Seems like that's the number one reason things get in the back and chip away at the casing.

The Agent 18 also concerns me because of the way it is put on. Seems like the sides of the iPhone would get scratched up from removing the case.

How often do you clean/remove the case?

I've had both cases and am now using the Agen18. I don't think it will scratch the back part at all. it's a tight fit, but nothing moves inside, except when you slide it on/off and I don't think it's actually touching then (it does touch the chrom, I think, but not the back part)

The chrome scratching is a different story - I don';t think it can be avoided, but I also don't think the agent18 scratches it. The main difference between the seidio and the agent18 si that the seidio is not as hard so it is possible for it to flex around the screen and rub whatever dirt there is against the chrome. The Agent18 doesn't flex at all. For protection, I think the Agent18 seems like the better choice. For looks and feel, seidio wins.

It does not move it all. It is very secure and the fit is excellant. I took it out once just to see if it scratched anything and it still looks brand new. The problem with people getting scratches on the phone is because they keep removing the phone to clean it. Clean what? its protected so just leave it alone is my advice and you will be fine.

I also went with the Anti-Glare Protector from Power Support instrad of the Crystal because I dont have to wipe my phone from smudges all day. I finally found the perfect fit case and protection.

Thanks

PDE and Macsterling, thanks for the info. You guys sold me on the Agent 18.

One last thing though.

I dock my iPhone at my office so I'd have to remove the case to do that. How easy is it to remove? I'm looking at the pics they have on the Agent 18 site and I don't see how to pull the 2 pieces apart after they snap together.

It's actually very easy. You just hold one end, including the phone, and pull the other. Unlike the seidio which to me was a pain to get off and I always felt I was going to snap something.

No worries. Unless you actually want the phone in the dock you can just actually take the plug out of the dock and plug it in your phone directly and lay it on your desk. Another solution is if you have the universal dock then the Agent 18 case comes with an adapter so you dont have to remove the case if you like seeing your phone docked

I did not like the Marware products. They seem poorly made and would not hold up over time.
I did however receive my seido case in and after a few days of use I think I prefer the agent 18 case. The seido case does not have a good fit due to how thin it is. The lines r not perfect on it.
So its agent 18 for me. If anyone wants the seido case let me know

Thx Macsterling......I just came across this website for iPhone cases. They really seem to have nice ones.

I would recommend everyone having a look at some of the iPhone cases available. They r on the expensive side, but look great quality. Also, if someone already has one of these, plz share your experience with us.

BIG QUESTION: R they really worth the price??

I would be interested in the Sedio case. Let me know.

I found out 2 new cases by Seidio that is expected to be ready for sale next week.

I just bought a Seidio holster and case for my iPhone. No question, this is the best phone case I have ever used. In fact, I just ordered another for my wife's new iPhone.

I've had too many issues with this Seido case and stopped using it after few months.

It DID scratch the chrome front portion of the phone.. Quality is sub-par...while it is a good fit, both the case and holster broke 3 times in 5 months. Also, it is very hard to get the phone out of the holster and you feel like it will snap the holster. (as evident by the holster breaking every couple months)

I am not too happy by the case+holster set and will not buy from them again.

I use a Seido holster for my Treo 680, and have had similar problems over the last 8 months or so that I've had it. The rotating mechanism in the holster has loosened up to the point that the phone has a hard time staying in place now. Add to that the spring in the retention piece that holds the Treo in place has loosened as well, causing my Treo to fall out if I brush up against something accidentally. While I liked the rubberized case, it has not held up well over time. Cannot recommend for the new iPhone just from my experience.
