So my charger still works, but sometimes it wont charge and I have to wiggle the cord a little then it will read, and sometimes it goes back off and I have ot adjust the cord, or wiggle where it connects to get it to charge again. Anyways I decided I needed a new charger, so I stopped by Best Buy. the guy there said any of the chargers will work for my Macbook, whether the "L" or "T" shaped ones. 85w or 60w.. I didnt get one there, wanted to look online. Anyways any recommendations for a charger for my MB pro?

I have a Macbook Pro 13 Inch Mid 2012 Model - and for some reason I have a feeling the "T" charger wont work with my Macbook, even though the guy at Best Buy said it would..

There are two types of MagSafe: MagSafe1 and MagSafe2.

MagSafe1 is available in both L and T variants (the T variant was phased out in around 2010 if I'm not mistaken).

MagSafe2 is only available in the T variant.

You need a 60w magsafe 1 the one with the L connector. Getting a higher watt one like 85w will just cost you a bit more but provide no differences. Visit an apple store or which ever place you want but look for a 60w magsafe 1

The guy at Best Buy was completely right. I'm not sure why you won't believe him. So long as you buy a MagSafe 1, not a MagSafe 2, any charger will work, be it T or L, 45, 60 or 85W.

What your computer came with is the 60W variant, if you go higher wattage, nothing much will happen(the 85W's brick is a bit bigger). If you go lower, the computer is likely to charge a bit slower, but other than that, you'll have no ill effects.

The guy at Best Buy told me the Magsafe 2 "T" shaped one will work. So I believe after reading everyones posts he was in fact wrong and I almost bought the wrong one..

Have you ever been to a best buy? I've had more literal laugh out loud moments at best buy, than any other retail outlet in my life. Mostly overhearing advice to others. The amount of incorrect info there is amazing.
