After installing a new drive we should use the Disk Utility to format the drive. What is the best file system type to use (besides MSDOS)? There is journaled etc.
 
You'll want to use journaled. Case sensitive is your choice. If you plan to install applications on the drive, I recommend not case sensitive. Some applications have issues with case sensitive drives (such as Adobe CS2...though CS3 works). If you're planning to duplicate a linux webserver for testing, I strongly recommend a case sensitive drive. That eliminates the "it worked locally...until I put it on an EXT3 drive that's case sensitive!" issue.
