I highly recommend the Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 Vi. They are very detailed musically and have ruler flat bass down to about 50Hz. The only thing is price. You can get a pair from thecellguru.com for about $70-$72 including shipping.

I can't say enough good things about Shure earphones. I've had a pair of SCL2's for over two years and I'm anxiously waiting for some SE310's to come in the mail. They're on the pricier side, but well worth it if you're anything of an audiophile.

cost you a bit more but they are hands down the best:

Etymotic Research HF2

you can get them for like $125.00

Best audio quality for the money!

Sony EX-71's.

I have SE210's and V-Moda's but I use the EX-71's more than the others. They are light in weight and produce comparable if not better sound. Been using EX-71s for years and they usually last for a good amount of time before going bad. Im on my 2nd paid in 5 years.

Bose in ear are the best ones i have owned. I have had shure se210, sennheiser cx400 and zagg z buds.

They perform the best all round in terms of how balanced the highs, mids and lows are.

They have excellent bass response and the highs are really clear.

If you wanna gamble a little and go inexpensive you can try http://www.meelec.com/ they have a sale this month $20 for a mystery set least expensive value is $30-70 they have some good reviews on the audiophile forum for the price. some compare them to Shure I ordered a set and should get them in a day or two. fun too not knowing which I will get.

You can usually find Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 4vi on eBay for a lot cheaper than their msrp of around $150. They also sound very nice and have a mic and remote.
